Prithvi: Was He Really That Noble?

okay guys i still think he is, i saw this article on the net, although i dont believe most of the stuff..well i cant find it now, but just imagine....

your from the 1100's and probably in those days love was thought of as a bad thing? its not in the seriel between friends but with ur dad and that? right?

well anyway no one can deny the swayamvaram where prithvi took sanyo away!

think that your from that time, what would your opinions be? would you really regard prithvi as that noble?

i mean now we do, but back then...

dont you think that the prithvi taking sanyo away would have started many people disliking him?

please try to think from that period and honestly say do you think it was noble or not, was it right or not? i think it was right coming from now

but if i was in that period

well obviosly there woudl have been very few people that would have understood what the two were going through, so honestly speaking i would have probably thought it was wrong, back then!

i guess yeah it was quite wrong..becuz he chose love over duty and it was that move of his which lead to jaichand betraying him and telling ghori his whereabouts which resulted as the end of the chauhan dynasty...

but from a more sympathetic point of view..i guess it was right too becuz they were both really in love and back in those days, i guess it was harder to forget someone becuz ppl took love back then more seriously..it was literally a matter of life and death..

so i guess frm different views hes right and wrong..its hard to put ur foot down..

Franky speaking i really doubt if the real Prithvi was as sweet, loving & adorable like Rt - PRC.
I really have doubts on this

true but wha love really regarded as life and death? i think we still take it seriosly now but would people really expect that to hapen..i dno im not that good with words lol

i spoe the people of ajmer wouldnt have minded but definately of kanauj becoz they lsot their rajkumari to some one that their king hates! i mean they wouldnt of liked it.. so it must of certainly sparked dushmani between the two kingdoms...and added oill to the dushmani between kings?

i mean it depends on how strong his feelings were for sanyo..and now we can guess pretty accurately that they were strong...

so it could be that he was actualyl really really loving. we just dont know..wish i could go back to the past and have a looook 😆

I guess as sonali said falling in love at that time was a matter of life and death. But then I guess the real PRC was so adorable as our PRC. Somewhere down the line the idea of getting back at Jaichand might have tempted him. Also the fact that if he married Sanyo he would one day become Jaichand successor too. That way he would get 2 states extra-Delhi and Kannauj.
As Someswar once tells Prithvi that its the king's duty to do what is good for his kingdom and expanding it was certainly good for the kingdom. But then the real PRC and Sanyo def stuck to each other till the end in face of adverse circumstances. Thats why their love story is immortal.

I think it was totally right. Back then also girl had the right to choose her husband. That's why Swayamvar was arranged. And Prithvi did not kidnapped Sanyogita. It Was She Who Garlaned His Statue First. That means she choosed him as her husband. Then Prithvi's taking her away IS NOT AT ALL WRONG.
If you don't agree, I'll give you similar example Lord Krishna taking away Rukmani. Back then He said that it's wrong to force a girl to marry against her wish. And if she has asked Lord Krishna to help her in this matter (she has
written him asking help) then it is His noble duty to do so.
So how can it be wrong Prithviraj doing the same thing. He was also a Rajput King after all.

actually, they run away frm sawamvar took many lifes. there r two names who sacrifice their life 2 help prc in this incidence. one of them was a raja n another one was his younger brother. n u can see wat happen afterword. it weaken prc power also. he ignore his duties 4 his country n this make jaichand 2 help ghori as it was an insult 4 him also tat his daughter was kidnaped in front of his eyes. wat he cd hav said 2 his country people. people might hav thought tat how weak their king, he even can't save his daughter then how he will save his country man. n result was wat we all know. most of the time man give importance on outside beauty n rajas started marrying so many times. i heard bhimdev even declaired war to marry inchini

Evenif Prithvi was not so much in Love with Sanyogita (As we believe he was) then also it becomes his noble duty (Kshatriya Dhram)to save Sanyogita from Marring someone she doesn't want if she had asked his help.
What I know from Histroy is Sanyogita has invited Prithvi for her Swayamvar and asked him to take her away. Technically, you have to be invited in Swayamvar and if Jaichand did not invited Prithvi due to his dushmani, Sanyogita could. She had the right.
Jaichand may not have apprived of it but what Prithvi did was perfectly RIGHT seeing our history. I can also give you several examples we you want(other than I already gave).

You mean by this war he ignored his duties???
n this make jaichand 2 help ghori Jaichand already hated him as King of Delhi Anangpal chose Prithvi over him for the throne of Delhi.

I thought someone said Inchini was Bhimdev's niece and Prithvi's wife.
