Well..I dont see any problem in it.........cuz u r juss givin us a summary of the book..........u r not plagarizing it.....u r writing.......sort of a chapter analysis.....of the book

they make us do that in school all the time.....they never get in trouble for making students write book reports...

u r basically writing a report........a summary of the book....chapter by chapter........

i mean.......i don't think there is anything wrong.......if u look at the situation from this perspective....

i know this for a fact lakshmi - you are perfectly capable of writing reviews /your views/crticisizing publications and even quoting the parts of exact words/sentences as a reviewer here. as long as you do not copy the book/material (i.e. like a whole chapter) in an entirety it is all right.
s.priya (global mod) is actually a lawyer and helps most of us understand legal issues in IF. you could pm her once more and she will make you understand in detail (if she's not busy now that is!)

if you quote a line (as in put " before and after the sentence) and give references to the original text, then its perfectly alright.

Yes..this is a serious issue....u can't post anything from a copyrighted book....umm....check out the e-mail id of the publisher if any in the PRC Raso...just send an e-mail and see what happens...

aww.. that sucks.. but the thing is that this isnt rly plagerism.. all she is doing is paraphrasing the chapter.. you could call it a summary.. plus we are listing the reference or the bibliography.. and and i rly dont understand how it violates the copywrite of the author or whatever.. as per as i know it only violates it if she just writes down word to word of that book.. but i guess a lawyer knows better.. 😕 😳
