This is my first post in the trp thread
I don't comment much on trps, whether they are good or bad. But the discussion in this thread was quite interesting so my views on the topic.
There are many factors which effect TRPs.
1) PV got the best TRPs on week 1. It was highest among all the Sony shows. Which shows if it's promoted well it will get good trps.
More than that what was surprising was
It got about 1K+ followers in SonyLiv (which not all Sony shows get)
It was a combined result of content, promotion by Sony and popular leads.
I believe popular leads can't bring TRPs. But they can bring in the initial online craze. Which PV had and continues to have because of the show's overall content. If it didn't have content, it would have died down. Still it was the max in week 1 n 2. After that it has been fluctuating.
Content of the show has nothing to do with trps. Shows with worse content n not so popular leads do well in Trp race. Shows with popular leads n worse content also do well in trp race. In some rare cases even good shows get good TRPs.
2) Sony promoted the show well just 2 weeks before it's launch n 1 week after it's launch. It got 0.9 n 0.8 respectively. After that they reduced the promotion. And after week 5 the stopped the promotion totally. That is after PriNal sword fight.
Show has it's own flaws. Though one of the best shows right now, it lacks continuity and few parts are rushed n few are dragged.
But mainly promotion is to be blamed.
3) Coming to bashing in Twitter etc, I think both characters are bashed. If Mrinal was bashed in Twitter, Prithvi was bashed here in the forum
It's better to accept it as a difference in opinion n move on. Personally I have never gone in any thread to justify Prithvi. Neither will I do so in future... But then at the end of the day it's an individual's choice if he/she wants to justify his/her fav.
But online bashing doesn't have any effect of TRPs. If online response effects TRPs, then Dharti track should have got the max TRPs, as the track got the maximum response which was unanimously positive.
4) Now about accepting grey FL. There have been many instances where the FL has been seeking revenge and fakes love to accomplish her goal. The highest TRP rated show of Indian TV which got 4+ trps had the FL seeking revenge for her parents killers ,she fakes love with the ML who is the son of her parents killers and ended up falling for him. I hope u understand which show I am talking about. And accept my apologies for comparing a high content show like PV with that show
So TRP audience love such tracks as well. 😆
Even Sony had a show based on grey FL , she was accepted well. And so is Mrinal. Mostly people connect to Mrinal. I see very less bashing for her compared to what that FL got😆
Infact I feel Mrinal faking revenge will bring in Trps, fingers crossed 😛
People might have problem with the PV's over all anti war concept. Mostly historicals dwell into the lives of a king who fight against enemy kingdom. This one is trying to win the enemy kingdom using love.
So yes content is different, but that we knew since week 1. Then why did the trp decreased later? It's mainly due to zero promotion by Sony n the timeslot and zero repeats that too for a new show.
Nevertheless the shooting of S2 has started. The team is happy with the response the show has got otherwise they wouldn't have started with S2 shooting. Now like Mano said, hope some miracle happens and Sony starts promoting the show 😛
