Like I said, there's no way around the risks and it's really not worth it unless it's an emergency. A lifetime worth of problems is not worth avoiding pain for 1 day. Frankly, I don't think your friends should have had children if they were so afraid of normal delivery.

I really do not understand why women in India/Bangladesh/Pakistan think it's okay to use C-sections just because they feel like it or they don't want to go through pain. Why do they choose to risk their safety and the baby's safety? Isn't a mother's first priority to care about her child? Then why the selfishness about avoiding pain? If a woman is so selfish that she wants to care only about herself to avoid pain, then she should not have children at that time. Also, one thing I've gathered from all of this is women in India/Bangladesh/Pakistan do not really know the risks of C-sections, and the doctors of those places assure them its okay because those doctors are interested in the money they get from the surgery. They will of course encourage a woman to get a C-section and lie to her that it will be okay because he/she will get a lot more money than telling her to get a normal delivery.

Getting pregnant is easy, becoming a mother is painful, and raising a child is difficult. Once a woman understands this, they will embrace what nature gives them and not be selfish little girls. But unless they realize that, there's no reason to consider having children. Being a mother is about sacrifice, love, care and devotion.

Regardless, I can't change the world and how they think, I can simply let people be cautious and be aware of what they are putting themselves into.

ppl r preferring c-section bcoz they r not mentally strong about the delivery.. thr is nothing wrong going for it ... being a mother doesn't mean that u have to torture urself with pain for hrs and hrs ...
3 of my frnds undergone c-section though its not an emergency. they r afraid a lot that doctor herself suggested to go for c-section. now a days its not a big deal going for it. everybody has their own preferences.. u feel that its a great thing for a mother going thru all this doesn't mean that everyone has to go for it. ppl who doesn't want to , they r utilizing the technology. more over thr is another of my frnd who went under normal delivery coz she dont want to see those stitch marks on her stomach. n mostly my sister, she is absolutely ready for the normal delivery and she had gone for it.
All I meant to say is ppl who is under going thr c-section , doesn't mean that they dont care of motherly love , sacrifice blah blah ..at the end its their kid and eventually they will take care of it irrespective of c-section or normal one. thr wont be any diff of showing their love based on c-section baby or normal delivery baby 😉 ..

its not just the doctors simply suggesting for money, not all the doctors will be like that. most of the public asking doctors to arrange for a c-section.

no offense to anybody. personally i prefer to go for c-section only if thr r complications.. but that doesn't mean that i can think the other end is wrong 😊

Actually choice C-sections are popular in the US too. I wouldn't say it's 99% (I doubt this is true for India too) but a solid 20-30% of deliveries are C-sections and the percentages have gone up in the past decade. What has become really popular is scheduling one's own delivery date, but this does not have to involve a C-section. An adequate shot of oxytocin is enough to trigger contractions.

Regardless of how you want to deliver a child, it's always best to consult with your doctor and see what advice he or she gives you based on your medical history and your own situation.

Hi Sherma,

well its always got to have normal delivery. C - section are advised only in emergrncy. i myself had c section at last moment. in c- section u hav to take care of few things. recovery take almost 2 month. depend uopn the stiches. u cant sit down , bent down, staicase are not advisable. and many more. there is nothing wrong in c- section, but normal is speedy recovery except for the labor pain. but with epidural, it reduces a lot.

Contrary to popular belief... You STILL get labour pains and contractions - regardless of how the baby is going to be born.

C section is a choice but none of the doctors I met recommended it. The way this show is portraying this topic is silly - to say the least. There is NO way you can get rid of the pain - yes once you're ready you get drugged and the operation is done. But doctors still recommend you to bear the pain until its actually time for the baby to come.

And there's way too many risks involved even after if care isn't taken. Stitches getting infected is the most common one and it happens to 5/10 ladies. My friend just recently had a baby by c-section and she was discharged after 4 days. She was rushe back to hospital 2 days later because her stitches got infected. Now she has to stay there till the new ones heal. Not only is she in pain but looking after her baby and herself is causing her a major breakdown. :/
