wait a sec..let me add Melodrama ..what if your family are all for it ??

lets leave out the National Heroes ..They became Heroes after experiencing all the vices and learning from it and overcoming it ..they were not idealists..

Here's your Lallantop medal⭐️ for that line. 👏

Now for my surprise...one of my shorter posts😉😛😃

Bottom line is this. Life is all about choices. Can you live with yourself day in and day out without looking over your shoulders, fretting it, guilt ridden and anxious, that's what really matters. For ultimately it's your good health, peace of mind and self-acceptance also known as LOVE is what really matters. Moral judgments are easy to come by, a dime a dozen. But one's perception of life based on their life's experience and context is the basis for their own truth.

Mera moves away from the podium before Tanths gets her out of there.😲😆🤔😛

lets leave out the National Heroes ..They became Heroes after experiencing all the vices and learning from it and overcoming it ..they were not idealists.. But they have been following what they feel is right strongly n trully...Ok, Mahakavi Bharathiyar was not shaken by worldly matters, though he was not so very wealthy, even whn his family suffered from poverty, he didn't gave up on his beliefs n virtues....

it all boils down to what the person's mentality is...............if he can live without feeling guilty or reminded in every step he takes that he got a job/position not by his merit but by recommendation from and outsider, he can go for it...............but if the person believes that sometimes to win in life u have to give up the thing which u wanted most and be true to his heart then he will never accept such a favor be it anyone................ some people may not understand what is to live with pride and listen to ones heart rather than mind, and for those people , they may achieve money , status , momentary glory and happiness but it will never be permanent ................its the path one chose to live that matters.............gandhiji(who had committed many mistakes in his life and admitted it with remorse) could easily have ignored the discrimination met out to fellow citizen in SA and continue living a life of luxury...............but he chose to fight for the poor and needy by becoming one among them.....and he never raised his hand on the officers who trampled him and thrashed him, holding on to his principle of ahimsa even in excruciating pain ..............like wise Galileo, never betrayed his faith and beliefs in face of death ......rabindranath tagore, born into a feudal and highly rich family could easily have lived a different life, like wise swami Vivekananda too..........its not who u r.............its about how u r what u r........

just like a snake who won't give up the 'nagamani' even in the face of death, righteous people would never let go off their values and principles in life...........whatever maybe the lure and threat..........

Excellent topic Tanthwa... hats off to you....😃 by the way, we all would be very interested to know your stand on this topic....😃😉

I really liked all the different views by other posterwas...👏
I feel that it is impossible for the common man to be completely idealistic in today's world.... not everyone can be a Mahatma Gandhi or Mother Teresa.... even in MKAP, the idealistic Prof and Prats hid the truth (Angad-gate) from Krishna....

In my opinion, taking favours / recommendations from someone would depend on the situation....as long as it is not harming anyone else.... for example... you bargain with yr long-time subjiwala and he gives u discounts which he doesn't to other customers.... or an airlines friend helps u get cheaper tickets....🤔
On the other hand... bribing someone, or sucking up to the boss for favours / promotion would be a definite no-no in my book...🤢

really a though provoking post sathya.
cant answer it. i never had to face such situation. i had to get admissions through my hard work be it school , my college or now university. i am not a great student but i got what i think i deserve.
PS: i think its also depends where a person live. i really dont know if i lived in india i would have taken a job with recommendation or not.
