Some questions that bother me:
Are the Thakurs rich? If so, why can't they hire more than one servant for their huge house?
Is Piyasia a servant or a relative? She does not really behave like a servant. Why is she always dressed up in long skirts with tons of jewelry? How can she get any housework in that getup?
Why are the daughters-in-law of such a powerful family required to mop floors and do laundry?
Didn't Krishna tell Prats that he will keep like a "rani" if she married him instead of Nitin at her engagement? What happened to his promise?
Why do some women keep their head covered at all times and others don't. Nainaji is covered but Aman's mum isn't. Is it a question of class?
Why do they eat the same food every day? ( Other than sweets and snacks) Even the Saxsena's appear to eat the same things everyday. Chapatis, rice and some yellow stuff.
I must admit I have never been to India and these things may be true to form for this particular region!
