Most interesting discussion!
I don't know if Pratigya is "head over heels in love with Krishna" - given their relationship graph even the phrase seems out of place. But is she committed to him? As in "I'm not going to let this man go" committed? The answer is yes.
Also regarding this whole question of the professor's influence I think Pratigya's dependence on her family's opinion is not quite as high as many seem to think. She has ALWAYS from Day 1 held her own counsel. Of course she is a young middle class girl devoted to her family and very much perturbed with the way HER troubles have troubled them, but with most decisions she almost always goes by what she thinks. Her smooth demeanour with her family doesn't automatically mean complete compliance - she's a very opinionated girl and operates almost always from her gut.
Even taht great 'vachan' that the prof took from her (to not tell Krishna the truth about Angad) IMO kept Pratigya quiet NOT because she had given this vachan but because for once she was too scared to tell Krishna - she was afraid it would rip their relationship apart, she was afraid Krishna would hunt down that man and kill him. It highlighted her frailty - it made her a little weak.
As for Shyamji's opinion of Krishna, well I remember thinking that it changed the day he found out from Angad that it was he who had kidnapped Pratigya. He came home with his knees shaking and I remember him looking deathly white and saying "Krishna uske saath hai" or somehting like that to his family. Ever since then Guruji has never undervalued Krishna - he has always been grateful for a strong man who can protect his daughter. And it's not as if he has been either in words or in thought holding Pratigya back from the brink, has he?
Like many of you I don't like the idea of Pratigya receiving her father's blessing to go ahead and fully accept her husband. On the other hand, I seriously don't think Pratigya needs it or is going by her father's approval. Like Dyehard has said, Shyamji, Nainaji and Dadi were sooo happy when they heard she was pregnant - they were surprised but very happy. And it was only Arushi 😡 who was unhappy with the idea of PRatigya and Krishna together. The elders were in fact relieved. Naina has been telling her for a very long time to accept Krishna. So their opinions in this matter are quite redundant - Pratigya is quite obviously going by her OWN instinct in this matter.
My chavanni's worth 😊

Bubble,
They are worth more than that !!😛
Nobody is questioning her commitment....the day she realized that Krishna was not the perpetrator was the day she became fully committed to this relationship ....
Pratigya is NOT dependent on her family's opinion ...it would be vice versa !!..No Pratigya seeks their approval ..not their assent ..this is what I am trying to say in various forms..she wants their whole hearted approval ...that makes her happy..but even if she doesn't get , she will do her own thing ..but she wants their understanding ...and yest Papa showed his understanding ....
Shyamji's opinion of Krishna flip flopped constantly and he began to care about Krishna only after the Prison Confession ..and so far his regard for Krishna has maintained a steady course and Papa's approval has provided an added impetus for Pratigya and it has strengthened her resolve to fight for her love..
And it will be a fight ..Krishna may not be so willing to accept her statement so easily...he has been burnt..and he is going to be extremely wary ....it will take all her patience, resolve and perseverance to convince Krishna ..and with her maika supporting she will not be broken that easily ...
