Kaashwa ,

This serial also deals with rights of oppressed women..... I do accept that...but the first issue is education...we have thakur's directly mentioning about education...They always taunt Pratigya by saying "Tum Padi Likhi ho tho".....for them Education is a threat !!

We have Saxena's smirking about the Thakurs and sneering "Yeh Gawar, Jaahil Log" ..implying that they are intellectually superior cos they are educated . Education has made a snob of Saxena's !!

Kaashwa ,

we consider the saxena's as dumb ppl..the Saxena's consider themselves as susheel, polite, sanskari log....

To actually lead a happy life, honesty, loyalty, humanity and humbleness, understanding are all important.....
for me anytime honesty n god fearing comes first...
of course education is a must for everyone..but taht alone cannot give happiness!!

Hami ,

what are the qualities that an education can give you to lead a happy life ??

you have listed honesty....................................Understanding...all these are traits....some inborn and some acquired thru conditioning by living in a society.....

Why shud you fear a god ? Isn't God supposed to be merciful ,compassionate and loving ??

Why is education a MUST ??

Ohhh.....

Education shud teach one to be humble and polite...shud give courage to stand stand-up to win things in life(i mean..goals,etc)...even if one disagrees some one's word or deed, he shud do it an agreeable way!!!
education certainly gives the knowledge and strngth (along with ur wisdom...plain education cannot render anything to lead a happy life) to do/say right things at the right place and also shud teach going submissive is no way wrong to tackle situations.......for rigth reasons!!
i think education cud give the above..we will hav little probs in life!!

Shumi ,

I would not be so hasty ...I think that Pratigya is meeting the Thakur's type of family for the first time in her life...Prior to Thakurs her circle consisted of PPL like her fmly ...and she knew what they were made of...but with Thakurs...she doesn't know...which button will trigger antagonistic reaction and which will push the affection factor...The Thakur's are a new world to her..A savage and primitive world and she is trying to survive in this world ...Naturally she will think all that she sees are dangerous and threatening ..it will take time for her to understand that even Thorns are sometimes helpful and not all the thing in this world are dangerous....

As for her education in dealing with Thakur's..it is giving her perspective, an awareness and her education is acting as her moral compass...

Brilliantly said , Mahi...sirf education se wisdom nahi aatha .....wisdom tho tajurbe se aatha hai ...👏

lekin...you have also said ..Education is a MUST ? why is it so ....our ancestors were not educated..yet they seemed to have a higher connectivity among themselves , they were a close knit community, They had a strong healthy bond and they lived a long life [an indicator of stress free, contented life ].they had lesser crime rate..but now...

with education...we are connected electronically but not emotionally...we do not know our nearest kith and kin ..leave alone our community , we are so stressed out that we have many rehabs and the crime rate is just soaring......

So is Education an evil tool !!

Hello Tanthya! 😊
Here we go with EDUCATION - AGAIN, huh?😆
Well, for me - YES, education is as much a part of this show as is the eave-teasing and women abuse shown in it!!!
I agree with u! Education IS a threat to the Thakurs! SS himself admitted how education gives a person the freedom to express their thoughts - or something like that!!! The way I see it, the IMPORTANCE of education is very clearly shown when it comes to the characters of Krishna, Komal and Kesar!!! Krishna & Komal believes that Money and Power is MORE important than education and as a result, they make a fool out of themselves in front of educated people who dont understand or know about their BG or upbringing!!! Krishna believes men are superior than women - bcoz of his upbringing - TRUE, but also coz he is uneducated and never had the knowledge that they r NOT living in the 16th century and in the current century, men and women are treated as equals!!! Kesar, being uneducated, tolerates the beatings of Shakti, hoping that someday he will love her, without realizing that by the time that someday comes, she might be as good as dead!!! If she were educated, she would KNOW about her rights and would have the confidence to stand up for herself!!!
Now, coming to the Saxenas - lolzzz... I think its the viewers who make a BIG DEAL out of the Saxenas being educated!!!
You say, the Saxenas smirk and sneer at the Thakurs for being uneducated - well, the way I see it, they sneer/smirk at the Thakurs' foolishness to NOT be able to realize the value of education and NOT to show off their superiority as educated bunch of the society! Even I laugh at the Thakurs when they try to blame Pratigya and her education to hide their insecurities of being uneducated!
C'mon, who do u think the Saxenas would show off their education - to the Thakurs? Do the Thakurs give a damn about education to begin with??? And I think by the time Pratigya became Krishna-bahu, the Saxenas realized the fact that to the Thakurs, Money is more important than education, so what would be there to show off about education???
I agree, that the Saxenas dont live up to their educated BG! BUT I think, their silly reactions have more to do with their hopeless situation and frustrating emotions than with education!!! A susheel, polite and sanskaari person can very much be an idiot - I dont see how one being susheel and polite is related to him being a stupid???😕 And, educated people can ALSO be stupid sometimes, cant they?😕😕😕 Before I came to this forum, I dint know that a persons' education is to blame for his/her's stupidity!😆 AND, I think, a person can be illiterate but still have common-sense - so, I dont think having common-sense has got nything to do with being educated!!! OR, May be, I dont know the exact definition of EDUCATION after all!!!😕😆

Is Education Necessary for a Happy contented life [ I do not mean Materialistic life ]...
It's more important to learn to reflect within and think about what matters most in life. As Jeanette Winterson said "what you risk reveals what you value most". Education is supposed to expose us to the bigger picture while we go deep within to get the answers. The best books are those written to reveal answers to probing questions whatever the field.
what do you think are the core things needed for a happy life [note I am speaking about life in general ]

Haila! My favorite topic.👏👏👏👏
Happiness is our true nature and needs no reason.. Happiness is a choice.
Unless we are happy with ourselves first, we will not be happy with what we do, what we have, where we are and who we are with. The more we accept it ,the more joyful our experiences.

Core things needed for a happy life starts with self-love, acceptance of self and others, faith, service, living in truth and honesty. When we feel whole and happy we forget to judge others for we don't judge ourselves.

The only way to get to happiness is to be happy already (Krishna's motto in life😆😆😆 humo hamesha kush hain, kyun pareshaan karthi ho? Sab teek hai)

Note to Prats: If your current plan for happiness doesn't put love first (Baba does), don't think for a second that you'll be truly happy.

Some of my favorite quotes:

Wisdom is the power of maximizing the enjoyment of the present moment.(Baba's chat about the saat janam, saat rang, etc at the Adda).

Happiness requires no sacrifice, only acceptance.

When you forget who you are, you forget what happiness is.(Baba always says Hum Takur hain, Takur)😉

Joy is your spiritual DNA.(Baba says; humo kush, woh kush, sab kush)

If someone is in your life, it is because you have a gift for each other.(Baba and Prats have a gift for each other)

I personally reflect constantly and am fascinated by what I learn each time. 😃😆

Hello Ruhi ,

Nice to c u here !!😃

Oh dear...You mean somebody has already started and completed this journey..and here I was cherishing a fond hope that I will embark on this arduous journey and cover myself with fame and glory !!😆

Well, for me - YES, education is as much a part of this show as is the eave-teasing and women abuse shown in it!!!

I would not say Women abuse..I would just say ABUSE cos adarsh too is getting equally abused ...in fact if there are any abuses going on then I must say it is hubby abuse leaving Kesar aside..and Amma always ignores SS words despite getting early warning

Krishna & Komal believes that Money and Power is MORE important than education and as a result, they make a fool out of themselves in front of educated people who dont understand or know about their BG or upbringing!!!

Limits, I disagree with you ....Educated PPL also consider MONEY and POWER to be more important...if not they would not be going in search of well paying jobs nor try to establish a connection, sucking up to well connected PPL...In today's world Limitswa...POWER , MONEY AND EDUCATION are Important...Bill gates was not educated but he still went and become a success and how do we measure his success , by his Bank Balance ..and not by his education, for if education were a criteria..then Bill gates is a failure...

Krishna believes men are superior than women - bcoz of his upbringing - TRUE, but also coz he is uneducated and never had the knowledge that they r NOT living in the 16th century and in the current century, men and women are treated as equals!!

Ruhi, I have news for U ..Krishna believing that Women are inferior has not got anything to do with his lack of education...rather it how Indian society is conditioned ...I have seen Many educated men..many doctorates who can talk about the latest technological advances , who work in the highest cadre considering women as inferior and they don't see it as an abnormality..it has been so..it will be so..is their way of thinking...They have kept pace with technological advancement but their thinking is still rooted in 16 the century but why shud I blame Men for that, we women too silently accept this secondary treatment , don't we ...and we do more damage to our cause by going all out aggressive instead of fighting tactically and strategically

If she were educated, she would KNOW about her rights and would have the confidence to stand up for herself!!!

Being educated and knowing her rights will not automatically mean standing for herself..there will be many mitigating factors that has to be taken into consideration..first , is she financially independent, does she have kids,IS she mentally strong enough to live alone...sometimes women become addicted to abusive relationships too and crave it !!

A susheel, polite and sanskaari person can very much be an idiot - I dont see how one being susheel and polite is related to him being a stupid???😕

We are talking education...Education teaches us etiquette ..!!😃

And, educated people can ALSO be stupid sometimes, cant they?😕😕😕 Before I came to this forum, I dint know that a persons' education is to blame for his/her's stupidity!😆 AND, I think, a person can be illiterate but still have common-sense - so, I dont think having common-sense has got nything to do with being educated!!!
