Devi and Karu never met with each other in their lifetime chaddi buddies to ekta ne banaya hai.

Devi was Ashock's first wife and mother of Mahendra and Sanghamitra. She stayed away from the palace and Rajdhani. Karu came in Ashock's life when he was in his 50s.

I got to know all these from @ nostalgialove posts

This show isn't fit for the actors nor history. Few actors are doing well and the person playing the titular role is failing due to the script and poor direction.

Loved the Magnificent Century clips @NostalgiaLove, but was Devi really in a harem in Ujjain? Or it was only her with Ashoka when they were there?

He was a prince, of course he had his own harem there with Devi leading the harem there , even if a good actor was cast even he couldn't save the show, the show is absolutely stupid and insults the real history. Mauryan Empire was majestic, a traveller said the palace couldn't be compared with any other palace because it was so grand and in the show everyone is a bhikhari 😡

Obviously it is a stupid decision of bindusara to keep that snake man beside him as his personal bodyguard . No investigation nothing...baas rakh liya...Karu ka talents dikhane ke liye sabko stupid banana zaruri hai kya?

Now Devi will again turn against Karu for saving bindusara and making impression on everyone
