Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra's debut single in UK

Former Miss World and Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra is in London to launch her upcoming single 'I can't make you love me'.

It is her third release since launching her music career two years ago.

BBC Asian Network's Shabnam Mahmood caught up with her and spoke to her about beauty pageants, her upcoming films, playing an Olympic boxer, and the importance of educating girls.

The sultry Priyanka Chopra wows London! Yes, the actress was in the city to launch the preview of her new single, I Can't Make You Love Me. She had a press meet at GUESS, London, attended by hundreds of her fans.

Since she is the brand ambassador of the clothing brand GUESS, the event was planned at the brand's store at Regent St in London yesterday, January 20. "Can't wait to see you guys and share my new single with you! Who's at the #Guess store now? Tweet me," tweeted Priyanka before reaching the venue.

For the event, Priyanka Chopra went for a casual yet sassy look, opting for GUESS, obviously. She paired her monochrome blazer with a black T-shirt and denims. Black boots, statement golden earrings and a sleek ponytail completed her look.

It was a meet-and-greet event, and Priyanka interacted with her fans and the media people after giving a sneak peek of her new single I Can't Make You Love Me. The event also marked her first promotional round in the UK as a recording artist and as the brand ambassador of GUESS.

Fans gathered in huge number outside the store, waiting to catch a glimpse of the actress. While talking to her fans, Priyanka said, "I keep coming to London and keep seeing you all. It feels really great that all of you have come here to see me."

Priyanka is the first Indian Guess girl. Guess fashion models earlier included names like Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Eva Herzigova, Valeria Mazza, Julia Lescova, Laetitia Casta and Kate Upton.

She should sing a Hindi song cuz I like her voice although I'm yet to like her English numbers

Tell us about your latest project...

I'm working on a few projects right now. I have my new single coming out in March, it's a contemporary remake of Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me. I'm also working on three films - the first is called Gunday, the second is called Mary Kom, and the third film is untitled.
