Interesting discussion post. Honestly I think the show is going to extremes to show how Sharda is not educated in the book sense. Education is the learning of knowledge and skills. Where is it said that it solely applies to learning how to become literate in a language. In actual fact, Sharda has been educating Sakshi on other aspects of life. The husbands logic is beyond me, if his wife is people praised for the way she shown you up he doesn't enjoy it. Yet enjoys revelling when she makes a mistake on her Achilles heel. The obsession with English and her inability to understand it, is very strange. It would be different if she was in a country that did not speak Hindi and English was the lanaguge, as that makes life difficult for commication. Yet she is an articulate person when given the chance and not suppressed her herself and those around her.

Coming back to your topic, a book education is not everything, yet if you have one. One would think it would give you a wider knowledge of the world. People should understand the strengths and limitations in the world. Yet to me this family maybe education but they are simply stuck up and believe people who are not the same as them are below them.

completely agree wid u.
Education is nt just abt knowing how to read en write, it includes respect for others en consideration.
En even if nt educated Sharda has respect for others, unlike the educated fools of her family.
