I liked a lot of things about yesterday's episode. And we will come to that later.
But the one thing I didn't like was OTT dramatic effect of everything. And let me tell you I'm someone who normally enjoys such movies where everything is larger than life. But yesterdays's dramatic patriotism didn't strike a chord with me. Maybe because I'm quite the anti nationalist. I felt the effect of yesterday's episode was lost on me. Slow motions are a good editing technique to show emphasis but it cannot be a repeating pattern. I hope this will reduce in the coming days.
What worked for me was AsHISH. He played his part more than convincingly. Very few actors on TV can play larger than life roles with so much gusto. I think after years there's finally a TV actor whom I think is cut out for bigger things in life. His experience in theatre shows through. He plays the larger than life aspect of his role with same lan as he does when he portrays the vulnerabilities, pain and intensity of Rudra. Take a bow Ashish!
The episode was shot at a grandeur scale, the DOP and action director has done a very good job. But I'd have been even more impressed if they had cut out so many jarring bloopers.
And finally the precap. Now the scene has been set, the conflict masterminded. I think starting tomorrow we will find out what RR is really about. And the beautiful imagery of the precap just does that.
Divided by hate,
United by grief,
Will the two lovers
Ever meet?
Episode verdict- disappointing!
P.S- a big chumma to Ashish for enjoying SJ's Phatphatiya post as much as I do and for saying it.
