I loved today's episode and all the revelations to us about Ayaan! I had never expected him to be such a sweet and sensitive child and the CVs surprised me yet again. He is so much like his dad, all cold and angry on the outside but soft and sensitive deep down. He also has that strong protective streak that we saw Pakhi bringing out in Anshuman in the jail sequence.

I also suspected that Anshuman would only be making Pakhi look better with all his scheming and that is exactly what happened. He is doing for Ayaan what Lavanya did for him in the whole gift situation, making the former's expectations so low and scary that Pakhi's pure and warm-hearted sincerity shines even brighter. Ayaan has always been completely aware of Mahaji's hypocrisy, more than anyone else in the house. Before he used this knowledge to his advantage because he felt alienated and insecure but in this situation he sees that MJ is plotting against Pakhi when Pakhi only wants to do nice things for him. The fact that Pakhi is aware of Mahaji's hypocrisy and declared it loud enough for Ayaan to hear will increase his respect for her intelligence and low BS tolerance. It's as though everything is inevitably leading Ayaan to Pakhi.

Even the letter will serve this purpose because it will open up communication between Ayaan and Pakhi completely, the lack of which is the one weakness Anshuman and Mahaji have been able to exploit thus far. Ayaan and Pakhi are both too smart to fall for lies and they will definitely put the pieces together once they communicate openly. And once that happens, Anshuman is a goner!

As for the man himself, I have read a lot of disappointed posts about how he keeps going back to square one. I think the thing to remember is that he is not on some predictable, linear path here where he has to progress from bad to good. His mind is operating on two planes at this moment, one unconscious and one conscious. He doesn't realize how much he is unconsciously becoming Pakhi's husband while consciously trying to make her leave. It is only when his conscious goal is realized and Pakhi leaves that he is even going to be aware of everything he was unconscious of so far. As long as he can't win, he will want to but once he wins he will find that victory completely empty.

In fact the process has already started with his sister suffering the results of a similar betrayal. Girish could have told Lavanya about Naina's parentage right off the bat, but he didn't. He let her think that they were in this together, that adopting Naina was a way to make their lives complete. He let her get completely attached to Naina, become a mother as she said yesterday, and then told her the truth. Had he told her before, there is no guarantee that she would have forgiven him but it would have at least been one less loss. The way he did it now, she has to suffer the loss trust in her husband, the loss of her marriage as she knows it and the loss of her essentially "new-born" baby.

It's the same with Pakhi. Had Anshuman been honest at the beginning she would have lost a dream, that's it. Now she will lose a man she truly loves, her child and her family. TP is heartbreak central these days, potential and actual!

Nice post Sama.

I was not surprised by seeing the kind side from Ayaan. He is smart enough to know who is to be treated nicely and who has to see his bratty side.
He is a child and goes by the reactions he desires by his antics.

But I have no sympathy for Anshuman for his behaviour so far. He is a hypocrite and two-faced coward.
His using his son and a disloyal thief of a servant to get his dirty job done is now beyond forgiving.
There has never been an unconscious thought in Anshuman from day one. He has had only one conscious plan of getting rid of Paakhi. And he has gone forward on that goal by hook or by crook.

There is no doubt that when Paakhi realizes the kind of man she has trusted and put all her faith and love in is nothing more than a crafty liar and a coward ,she will leave and ,yes then Anshuman will come to see what he has lost.

Anshuman with all that he has in life is still emotionally bankrupt and I fail to see if he deserves a woman like Paakhi in his life when he wakes up from his stupid and stubborn belief that Paakhi does not belong in his kind of world.

Lavania to is paying the price of betrayal from Girish. It is not hard to see that both siblings had a good time plotting against Paakhi without her knowledge and now since Lavania is in the same spot she does not like it.

As they say "Karma is a Bitch " and we all end up paying for it on this earth.

Lovely analysis! Very well written👏

I loved the point you made in bold about Anshuman...I agree with that completely...on a conscious level he is only aware of his single minded determination to make her leave...he isn't aware of all the subconscious changes happening within him and how intertwined his life is becoming with Pakhi's...he is in awe of her and is SCARED of the effect she has on him...although you'd never hear him admit it so easily😆...so he chants his "I can't let her win" mantra constantly but it is only when he LOSES her that he will realize the importance of her in his life.

I also liked the contrast they drew today...on one end, Lavanya's world collapsed around her and she lost the attachment she had for Naina while on the other end, Anshuman's bond with Ayaan strengthened today thanks to Pakhi...father-son grew closer while Lavanya's marriage started to collapse.

And yes they showed a different side to Ayaan today which was also nice to see...

I have to admit I was caught by surprise when I saw this! I just assumed that Ayaan didn't really know the meaning of true kindness because he had never experienced it but I was gently reminded of how much of an influence your friends and peers too can exert. Also, I have no doubt that this is Anshuman's influence in some ways. I remember the History teacher mentioning in passing that Anshuman supports all the orphanages in town. I guess Ayaan understands his father's essence better than Anshuman understands himself!

But I have no sympathy for Anshuman for his behaviour so far. He is a hypocrite and two-faced coward.

I am not defending Anshuman's behavior on any count or denying that he is a "hypocrite and a two-faced coward." He is. What I am arguing against is the idea that he is not changing at all. He is. But the change is so gradual, subtle and unknown to him that he is not perceiving it at all. It's extremely ironic that it's Pakhi who has to keep reminding him of his conscious goal by saying how happy she is that she can stay.

He is not emotionally bankrupt at all. He just had his emotions on strict lockdown and until Pakhi showed up it was easier to keep it that way. Now they are starting to creep out without his own knowledge.

He will of course have to bust his butt to convince Pakhi of his sincerity once she realizes his true colors. Like she said to Ayaan, her blind trust does not make her stupid. It means she is giving respect that is hard to win and easy to lose. The same will apply to Anshuman in time and it will be dreamy! 😉

Thanks!

I completely agree with everything you said. Every instinct and emotion alive in Anshuman is drawing him towards Pakhi. He is utterly mesmerized by her on one level, and though he would refuse to admit that, his eyes betray him every time. What I like is that it's not just her beauty but her intelligence, her quick wit and her very essence that has him floored (today, quite literally!).

I also think the Lavanya situation is a grim foreshadowing for Anshuman; this is precisely what he is going to be putting Pakhi through when she finds out about his true intentions. Lavanya will probably turn to Anshuman and stay with them until she figures things out and it will be yet another unpalatable reflection staring him in the face. He could be detached from Pakhi's fate all this time because he didn't really think about what would happen to her after she left him. Lavanya's grief will now not allow him to escape that reality. I love how they are complicating things further and further, making the impending tragedy all the more impactful!

Totally agree again...the writers have woven these things in so subtly that sometimes they are lost in the rest of the drama...but if there is repetition, it's repetition for a reason and LEADING up to a storyline point unlike most daily soaps which just go round and round in circles for years...The fact that the makers of this show claim to have a finite 6 month storyline chalked out and planned in advance gives me hope that they are setting things up in a very precise and planned manner and KNOW where they are taking this.

Is Anshuman being hypocritical? Absolutely! He's not used to expressing himself or his emotions...everytime Pakhi talks about these kind of things, he brushes it aside as a waste of time and foolish sentiment...yet there are moments when you see him off-guard and the expressions in his eyes show a kind of knowledge dawning deep inside his subconscious...she's reeling him in slowly but surely with the sheer power of her goodness and love and he has no idea how much he is already hooked😆

Like you said, SHE has to remind him about his challenge from time to time with things like AAPKI Paakhi and then he gets a bit of a jolt.

If the story lives up to its promise, things are deffo going to get very interesting when he loses Paakhi's trust and then he will have to grovel and worse to make her believe in the sincerity of his feelings...as you perfectly put it...Paakhi's trust is hard to win and easy to lose...and Anshuman only after easily losing it will realize how very valuable it was...and then he will have to work to regain it.

The lyrics of the title song are so THOUGHTFULLY written in that sense...

Anshuman's POV:

"Na koi tera aakhon mein sapna
Na jaana tha tujhko apna
Na chhoda, na chhoda tha koi bandhan

Phir kyun bole mujhko Sajna
Mol na dil ke, mol na dil ke
Na koi tere mol na dil ke"

Pakhi:
"Bol na dil se, bol na dil se jhoot na tu yun bol na dil se"

Anshuman:

"Jitna main baandhun khud ko
utna bhaayein mujhko
teri aakhein, teri baatein, aur teri saansein
ab main kaise rokun tujhko
kholun na dil ke, kholun na dil ke darwaaje kyun kholun na dil ke
khol na dil ke, khol na dil ke, raaz na tu khol na dil ke"

I love the back and forth conversation in these lyrics...as she cajoles him to stop lying to himself and admit the truth and he is caught b/w denial and claiming that her words have no value and then slowly unable to help being drawn to her and opening his heart to her.

LOL@ literally floored today...haha nice pun😆...yes it is not just her beauty at all...if that was all there was to it, he would have fallen for her the moment he saw her...but it is her CHARACTER that has drawn him in...her intelligence, her wisdom (even if he rolls his eyes at her gyaan), her sheer GOODNESS...he will never admit it consciously but the very fact that she is able to unwittingly thwart his plans or any challenge he throws at her leaves him in AWE and is part of what is making him fall for her...even if it frustrates him otherwise...but I think it makes him RESPECT her more too...that she wins every single time without compromising on her ideals...he is in awe of that goodness in her...and this shows in moments like those unwitting compliments slipping out of him..."Tum HO hi itni achhi"😆 or him telling Girish that he wants Pakhi to leave for HER sake cuz he doesn't want her to be constantly insulted and derided in this world of his.

I also think the Lavanya situation is a grim foreshadowing for Anshuman; this is precisely what he is going to be putting Pakhi through when she finds out about his true intentions. I love how they are complicating things further and further, making the impending tragedy all the more impactful! Me too...I really hope they live up to the build up...and yes it does seem Lavanya will now come and stay with Anshuman...but that also makes me wonder if she will be in a state to be co-conspirator to Anshuman over the Pakhi issue or she will just be too shattered and as you said, Anshuman might start to realize the level of betrayal Pakhi too will feel when she learns the truth...like the way he wasn't able to look at his reflection a few days back...looks like these feelings will strengthen and he will grow more disgusted with himself when the time comes.

Brilliant post! 👏 And a much needed one too. I think one should also reflect over how nobody changes in a day. We all have our experiences, in Anshuman's case Paakhi going to jail, that bring forth emotions that we never even knew were there.. however once things are back to normal, it is easy to shut away that part of yourself and move forward. It doesn't mean that the incident had no real impact. The impact is always there but usually we aren't ready to face it. What happens instead is that those feelings grow slowly and steadily and we are unaware of the changes that we are going through. I honestly believe that one needs several reality checks for even the slightest of changes to occur so that we actually acknowledge them. Human beings are particularly stubborn that way.
In Anshuman's case, he is responding much more strongly to Paakhi than ever before. She invoked a certain amount of guilt in him over his lackings as a Father so much so that he actually made a promise to her as well and today, for the first time Anshuman and Ayaan had a real moment. That scene was so beautiful.. his son tells him that he is stronger than Superman and in that moment Anshuman rediscovers the Father that he is, where he wants to be the man his son thinks him to be (on a purely unconcious level ofcourse).
Anshuman is exactly like Ayaan. He is treating this as a competition where for once he wants to oust Paakhi without really thinking of the consequences. I think in a way he might also be driven by what he told Girish, that he wants her to leave for her own good. Its only if he focuses on getting her out that he can ignore and overlook his growing feelings for her. The guy is not ready for love, especially not with Paakhi. It will only be until he takes off the virtual blindfold so neatly wrapped around his eyes, that he will see her as his wife and all that he feels for her.

And I don't know if that made any sense.. Anyway I do agree with the letter being another catalyst in Paakhi and Ayaan's growing closeness because I think she will finally be able to clarify that she was never the one to suggest that he go to boarding school. I love how he is growing more and more suspicious of Maha jee BTW. 😆

p.s: I like the twist with Girish too. It is realistic.. Girish is such a kind soul but I like how the writers added more to his character by showing how even he has his own demons. Also how it all serves the main narrative is very impressive.

awesome post 👏
it was really refreshing to see this new side of ayaan..and my heart literally melted when i saw him caring for his friend..that was really sweet😳

when i saw ayaan smiling and actually being nice to pakhi...and anshu really enjoying himself...in my mind i was just like...this is all too good to be true😆 which is why coming to anshu, i agree this will just bring pakhi and ayaan closer..we all know pakhi is not the type to sit down and cry...she is smart so she will find a way to handle the situation quicker than how anshu would imagine...
the more he tries to run away from this, the more it keeps coming back to him...

he is loving this happy family..we could see how happy he was seeing ayaan happy...yet he cant let that affect is aim of making pakhi leave...
he loves the company of pakhi being with him..and that is why he is trying to make her go because in his mind he is still thinking...'i dont want her in my family'

however the more positivity and love pakhi spreads in the family, the more anshu melts down and he gets this close to just giving in... but as we all know he is a man of ego, his ego gets in his way and doesnt allow that to happen...

he is so confused right now i tell you😆😆
