SRK Deepika Kat confirmed for SLB Bajirao Mastani

A hit like 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela' under his belt has definitely given Sanjay Leela Bhansali a new high so much so that the director is planning to revive his decade-old Bajirao Mastani.

It's heard that the director is thinking of casting Shahrukh Khan in the lead along with Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif -- no less a casting coup of sorts.

Apparently, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project Bajirao Mastani is finally about to roll after 14 years. As a source is quoted as saying, "After his film Ram-Leela released in October 2013, Bhansali has now started work on his next production, Bajirao Mastani'."

And for the lead, he has signed none other than his Devdas, Shahrukh Khan, claim sources. But an official announcement is eagerly awaited. Till now, Bajirao Mastani has gone through several casting changes. Sanjay, first wanted to make it with Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai, but with the couple breaking up, the movie got stuck in limbo.

It's heard that Sanjay is also keen to get back his Leela, Deepika Padukone, to play the role of Mastani opposite Shahrukh Khan. Considering Deepika's acting and dancing prowess, the actress will fit the role of a courtesan.

Also, Katrina Kaif could be approached for the role of Bajirao's wife Kashibai. Reportedly, Sanjay is in talks with both the actresses.

Deepika may not have doubts about her role, but Kat has always stayed away from playing the second fiddle. Will she agree to do Bajirao Mastani?
