BV used to show strong women but not in recent tracks...
All anandi, Ganga and saanchi have an easy life and they create problems themselves and try to solve them. Anandi till her marriage with shiv she was a strong woman not anymore.

I like the article but i don't think BV can be included in postive shows now
In fact it has everything to come up in negative shows
BV is openly passing messgae to society that science is nothing and one should do everything by just keeping faith in god and elder's ashirwaad
Anandi's education has been used perfectly to get her a groom like Shiv and not for her progress
Girls who have become modern can never have proper married life unless they leave their job for her in-laws and cook world's best food and keep quiet even when being bashed

Perfect post, libs - that totally sums up the messages BV is currently passing. It is profiting from being a long-running flagship show and from having had original/progressive tracks in the (distant) past. The memory of all that is shielding it from being trashed in the press for the regressive things it is currently showing/encouraging its viewers to conclude.

Balika Vadhu was once a very positive show and it remained that way up until AnSh marriage and started taking regressive turn from there.
In a nut shell, BV showed ill-effects of child marriage, traditional thinking domestic violence or marital rape, extra-marital affairs and lot more. But at the same time BV showed how people can change and how positivity can bring happiness. People like Ds and Basant changed for better. Anandi as a strong woman. J learnt from his mistakes in past and guys like Shyam / Shiv were introdcuced just to show how loving and supportive men can be.
All this was extremely well done.
What they have shown post marriage is;
- city girls are spoilt, characterless, emotional fools, instable decision makers, not a good bahu material and always have broken relationships ( Ashima, Saanchi and Guari combined). They also showed Shivani who encouraged Gauri to continue with her illegitimate child - again open mindedness on extremes.
- That only traditional ways are right. Anandi hasn't learnt to move with the worldy requirements but yet is always praised. And rather KB has turned BH ways instead of Anandi being little more sophisticated.
- That one can change the world with only lectures. Procedures and practices do not matter. I bet Anandi will get Amol just based on her pleads and lectures instead of showing us some procedures by orphange.
- That women should study only to find good grooms.
- That in name of goodness and sacrifices, women can get away with what they want. Ganga with this pregnancy and Anandi with adoption.
With both G and A, CVs should have showed problems women face while working and managing household, but no, they won't show such real problems. Rather they would show these women as super women who can do everything in jiffy and yet their homes are always sparkling, food is always perfect and they are excellent in jobs too.
- Pregnancies are always complications but yet women must take risk so that they can get best bahu award.
There isn't anything positive anymore about this show, except that one can watch it for time pass or loyalty or may be to interact on forum.
The article says that show trends have changed, obviously they have to. Otherwise real-life people can't connect and shows won't get TRPs. Lot of the current shows (soaps) are still extremely regressive in nature.

Missesha, you said whatever I wanted to say. BV story ended with Anandi's marriage - thereafter it is just stretching and mostly illogical drama with some good episode here and there - there are no strong woman now. I do not think real life people can connect with this story.

Very well said Esha, you summed up just about everything and especially the adoption track they are showing here. As you said, just by Anandi's lectures and pravachan the orphanage will give her the child. The family environment, family objections, will not matter here and no proper procedure will be followed. the way they are showing Anmol will be brought in as a surprise anniversary gift. But no orphanage or adoption agency works like that.
And what to talk to Ganga's pregnancy track, most regressive track they can show, by making Ganga take such huge risk at the cost of her health, ignoring Mannu, ignoring Jagya's plight and happiness. Ignoring everything else.

Supriya, just watched today's episode.
Amol was the surprise gift for AnSh by the orphanage. Can you believe the agency that was so concerned in the morning happily declared that child to be AnSh's child by evening. Wonder where such agencies work.

Well, this show is just not convincing anymore.

agree with you...poor child looked so clueless in haveli...imagine how would he feel if he suddenly told ansh is hi new parents...they should have first let them work over parent-son relation n than brought him to KB
