Kareena Kapoor marks Women’s Day with iconic “Main apni favourite hoon” message on self love

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan marked International Women’s Day with a message centred on confidence and self belief. Drawing from one of her most recognised film dialogues, the actor reminded women to value themselves every day. The message referenced her popular line from the film Jab We Met, which over the years has become closely linked with her public persona and is often used in conversations about self assurance.

Sharing a set of photographs on social media, Kareena wrote, “To all the women out there DON’T EVER FORGET… to say every single day of your life… MAIN APNI FAVOURITE HOON… Happy Women’s Day, ladies.” The post quickly gained attention online, with many fans recognising the dialogue that continues to hold cultural recall years after the film’s release.

The images in the post included a sunlit selfie and a photograph taken from behind, showing the actor standing against a mountain landscape that appeared to resemble the Alps. Another picture showed her wearing dark sunglasses and making a playful pout. A silk scarf and a few close up frames also appeared in the carousel, capturing relaxed moments during what seemed to be a travel break.

The line “Main apni favourite hoon” was originally spoken by Kareena’s character Geet in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met. The dialogue has since travelled far beyond the film itself. It frequently appears in social media captions, memes, and everyday conversations as a statement of self acceptance. Many viewers see it as a reminder that confidence does not always require validation from others.

On the work front, Kareena has continued to balance different kinds of roles in recent years. She was last seen in the 2024 heist comedy Crew, where she shared screen space with Tabu and Kriti Sanon. The film released in March 2024 and drew attention for its light hearted narrative built around three airline employees caught in an unusual situation.

She also appeared in the crime drama The Buckingham Murders, which released in September 2024. The film presented her in a more serious role, centred on an investigation and the emotional toll surrounding it.

Kareena will next be seen in Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film explores how one disturbing incident can influence public perception and moral viewpoints across society. It is expected to release in 2026.
