Akansha Ranjan Kapoor opens up about injections, mood swings and surgery during egg freezing process

Actor Akansha Ranjan Kapoor used International Women’s Day to share a personal update with followers. The Guilty actor revealed she recently underwent an egg freezing procedure. Posting a hospital photograph on Instagram, she spoke about the demanding medical process and the physical changes she experienced over the past two weeks, calling the female body extraordinary and its strength during recovery.

She wrote, “Yesterday I froze my eggs!! I really didn’t plan on sharing, but today feels like the right day to say this…the female body is EXTRAORDINARY. The last two weeks were… intense. Injecting myself with fat needles every day, hormones doing their thing, the bloating, the mood swings, the endless scans, the meds, the IV drip, and finally the surgery.” Akansha said the experience made her appreciate how complex and resilient women’s bodies are.

Along with the hospital picture, Akansha also posted another photograph showing her trying to return to routine. She explained that the image was taken the following day when she attempted a short walk. Despite feeling weak, she chose to step out and move a little. The actor wrote that the small effort felt meaningful after the medical procedure and reminded her that recovery can also be a quiet form of strength.

She added, “The 2nd pic is from today dressing for the job I want. Athletic and getting back to my routine.. even though I could barely manage a 20 minute wobble around my building. But honestly, that felt like enough! Because this body just did something pretty amazing. Happy Women’s Day.” The message struck a chord with several colleagues and friends from the industry.

Soon after the post appeared online, several actors responded in the comments section. Athiya Shetty left a red heart emoji, while Vaani Kapoor wrote, “Big love for you my girl.” Akansha’s sister Anushka Ranjan also reacted, writing, “Aww my strong girl.” On the work front, Akansha was last seen in the Prime Video series Gram Chikitsalay, led by Amol Parashar. The drama looks at the realities of healthcare in villages. She played Dr Gargi in four episodes and also appeared briefly in Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra released in 2024.
