When he wants to make a fun candy floss movie, he entertains. KKHH and even SOTY are good examples. K3G got too preachy and melodramatic for me to enjoy it. KANK was bad but it had its moments.

He's an extremely poor director when it comes to tackling serious subjects. MNIK was an awful, AWFUL movie. Easily his worst. Good thing he switched back to his candy floss cinema with SOTY. He's a great entertainer but a poor director when it comes to making real cinema.

I think his films are entertaining..I found SOTY very entertaining..but I wouldn't say his direction was gold in that film. In a film like SOTY you don't really need a solid script or solid performances..the entertainment factor helps carry the film...so KJo's flaws as a director are somewhat hidden..and then when he attempts to do a MNIK it's only then when you realize how he's not that great.
