As I understand it, they had a heated tiff, in which Armaan pushed her which resulted in the long broom or whatever she was holding, cause a bruise on her cheeks, she too pushed him back and called him a b******...! Both blessed each other with quite a few colorful decorations and as far as shown footage was concerned, that was about all, unless I missed something.š
OK, two persons abuse each other and obviously, Armaan being the champion abuser that we have seen all season, will take the honors when it comes to coming up with expletives with most damaging and degrading connotations and surely Sofiya ended second worst there! Is that any ground for 'arrest'? I am not sure really.
Yes abusing any one is not called for and is condemnable. Time and again Armaan has abused various housemates and thats downright disgusting and utterly condemnable!
If Bigg Boss had given him a warning over some abuse, categorically told him this is his last and final warning and expelled him the next time he abused someone, it would have made sense and perfectly justified as well.
But Police arrest over a verbal altercation?š¤ This is carrying things a bit too far in my opinion.
Lets for a moment assume that bruise that Sofiya received on her cheek merited a complaint and some kind of Police action!
Dispassionately analyse Sofiya here.
She had an altercation with Armaan, both exchanged a few abuses and insults, she got a bruise, got evicted out of house in a couple of days time and she came to Weekend Ka Wow show, sharing stage with Salman.
Those of us who know, know it that episode shoots of Saturday & Sunday Weekend Ka WOW shows are done the same day!..
..So effectively, Sofiya was out of house, rested a few hours and same day, was back on stage with Salman, thundering to Armaan,"Aapki girlfriend ne aapko Hi bola hai Armaan!"! š
Now why would Armaan's girlfriend say Hi to Armaan through Sofiya of all the people is anyone's guess? But its OK. Sofiya was peeved at Armaan and this was her way of getting back at him, howsoever lowly it might be considered.
During the episode too they had an exchange where she said,"Mera aapko advise hai..." and Armaan told her to buzz off! ...Understandable, this wasn't the way or time for these two to interact and move forward.š
I am not a lawyer, but I can bet my last Dollar, Armaan can not be convicted and imprisoned over whatever has happened between him and Sofiya! AT THE MOST, she can extract an apology from him, which in any case he offers, any one and every one at the drop of proverbial hat!š
So what did Sofiya gain except for ruining the show, what with just 2 weeks remaining?
And Pune Cops end up appearing even more laughable in all this.
Police officers are expected to apply their minds before acting on FIRs and not just arrest anyone or every one just because one person has lodged a complaint against other one! Believe me if cops started arresting people merely based on 'Complaints', Police Station cells would have no space...such are the volumes of complaints received on a daily basis!š
OK...Whats the standard legal procedure? š¤
Suppose someone is accused of a crime, (yes even a murder accused), he has a legal right to apply for bail! šš¼
(Simple premise is an accused is not necessarily guilty and if he is not guilty, provided he / she can satisfy the Judge that he / she won't run away from facing judicial proceedings, he / she should not be imprisoned and made to suffer)!
The Judge applies his mind and depending upon the situation, asks the accused to arrange for a surety bond of say 5 lac / 10 lac / 50 lac rupees...instructs him to report to the concerned Police station daily and releases him on bail. Idea is, they want to ensure the accused does not jump bail and without being punished by being imprisoned, goes through the legal process and then faces the legal verdict.
In Armaan's case this is absurdity of the highest order I would say.
As it is he was inside a house from where he can't go anywhere. As good as under house arrest!š¤
Would heavens have fallen if Cops had straight away taken him to Police station as soon as he came out of the house in 1 week or 2 weeks at the most?š¤
All they will achieve from this is, Armaan will be questioned in Police station and his statement recorded. Against pittance of a sum like 5000 Rupees bond, he will be asked to go away. Even assuming Sofiya stays adamant and the case goes to court, any smart ass lawyer representing Armaan would blast this whole case in no more than 3 hearings!šš¼
At the most Sofiya will extract a,"Bholenath ki kasam, SORRY..." out of Armaan...apart from her 2 minutes of fame!
Police action has no proportion...no sense at all!šš¼
PS: If abusing is ground of arrest 80% of Delhi-Punjab belt males should be behind bars...and may be 50% of rest of India's!š

Armaan has got bail already:

So I stand vindicated as far as one part of my assessment is concerned!āŗļø
Rest assured any lawyer worth his salt, needs no more than 3 hearings to get this case thrown out of court and thats what you will see next! (If at all the case goes to court that is!)š
