Rival site top 10 shows BV

2013' is coming to an end and it has been a year of highs and lows for the General Entertainment Channels (GECs).

A lot of shows saw major setback - Punar Vivah-Ek Nayi Umeed, Khoobsurat, Amrit Manthan, Parichay - with them going off-air in a jiffy while there have been others which have ruled the roost at the ratings front.

We get you the list of top 10 shows of - 2013 (The shows are arranged alphabetically).

Balika Vadhu (Sphere Origins): . This 1000 plus episodes Colors serial went on air when the television space was filled with saas-bahu sagas. It managed to break the ice then and four years from there on it has still managed to maintain its niche amongst the masses. Balika is definitely not the number one show on Hindi GEC as far as the charts are concerned but, its art of storytelling is still as fresh as it was back then. Its biggest strength is its star cast that understands this show in and out and also manages to strike the right cord with its audiences.

In fact 2013' was full of challenges with the show's lead Pratyusha Banerjee moving out and Toral Rasputra being roped in as the new Anandi which, did give this project a jolt. But, its writers managed to get it back on track. There was another tough moment when Sriti Jha better known as Ganga decided to quit but the team again managed to balance this out by roping in Sargun Mehta.

A battle won without challenges is not victory but Balikahas emerged as a victorious show thus, it deserves to be in our list of top ten shows.

I have been watching BV from the first episode, some times get irritated and frustrated but still loves the show. It is not a matter of joke to run the show for 5 years plus.

Of course BV is crap for me right now but BV Forum is pretty interesting with good analyzing critiques 😛😆

Storytelling is not of the quality it was earlier. The star cast is not as solid as it used to be. I think Anandi replacement was handled due to Ganga. And after Ganga left, CVs relied on masala and shock value drama.

It's in top 10 because it's in a stage where it's a habit. Every long running show has a stage when it begins to suck and viewers discuss it too but it's watched out of habit and past impressions. It doesn't mean the show's still going strong. Its makers should take it in right spirit and improve lest habit of audience changes after a point of time.

Except 24 hours by anil kapoor, no show is continuously interesting.

I watch BV to catch glimpses of Shiv, Jagya,Bhairon, Basant and DS.
