For me I agree with you. Tara not wearing neither sindoor nor mangalsutra is a bit weird. high society or not being married mean being married... hope we do see it afterwards.
they may be modern or of high society but still there's lots of secrets following each and everyone.

It is actually refreshing to see them not wearing any sindoor or mangalsutra!!!!!😊😊

They have shown them to be very high society and it is more realistic than other shows in which even after being very rich all of them are always in the kitchen!!!!

Here Tara and Meethi are only in the kitchen if they are making tea or making something special or Jayraj or Rudra Pratap!!!!!Other than that they never go to the kitchen on a regular basis what with their army of servants!!!!!

I am happy that none of them are in heavy sarees and jewellery all the time!!!!

I was afraid that they would make Tara wear mangalsutra and sindoor as she is the heroine and that would have looked weird as neither Nirmala nor Meethi wears them!!!!!

So I am happy things are the way they are!!!!!!And Tara did wear her mangalsutra for a few days till her reception!!!!!

As for Karwa Chauth, that is not going to happen for another year as a few weeks ago it was Diwali in the show!!!!

But one thing I would like is for Tara to shift to a sleeveless satin night gown from that cotton salwer she wears at night!!!!!😛😊😊(For references you guys can watch the episode of Tero Meri Love Stories starring Viraf and Shilpa!!!!Refer to the refrigerator scene in it!!!!)

😆 kya sahi baat pakdi hai...
Teri meri love stories...Viraf is all ???????

I think there are plenty of cultures in India that don't put emphasis on the traditional signs of marriage and they may be from those cultures although the whole household seems uninterested in following too many traditions anyway.
And seriously in some shows ppl talk about their businesses making 200 crore deals and then the camera pans onto all the women are in the kitchen cutting vegetables with the new bahu being taunted for mixing sugar with salt. No cook, no maid, nothing. What the heck are they using all those 200 crores for??

Good point dondy.

I find in most Indian Serials they overdo the old traditional marriage symbols for women but do not have any signs of marriage on men.

It is not necessary that one needs these outward signs of marriage if there is trust and commitment between couples.

And in this show EBI there is not much traditional to start with. As we see Kalavati is also a new and different character that one does not see often in Indian Serials.

I am glad to see that the CV's think outside the Box.

I think its not about belonging to high society etc... pple in real life dont wears uch jewelery on adaily basis... and sindur is a ritual started by the society to mark a woman being already taken... i dont think its compulsory, and the theory of putting it for the husbands well -being is also not authentic..
its just a personal preference... i like tara as she is shown...

In my bengali community, woman wear an iron bangle in the left hand, thats the only compulsory sign one wears from the day of wedding.. others are optional.

You all have very good points, but I disagree about the servants. Here in the US, even if one is a millionaire, they do not keep servants. I don't know any one personally that has a single servant, not even a maid. People here are very independent and love to do their own chores. Even though they have servants, I really like that Tara and Meethi cook and do other stuff around the house; shows a positive change in Indian mentality. I know India is different about keeping servants. It's normal for middle-class folk to keep maids/servants, and nowadays the even the poor are doing the same.
