Jyo, thank you so much for making this post! I have been very disturbed by many young girls thinking of characters like Satya as attractive. They should understand that, no matter what, there is nothing attractive about a man who takes advantage of a woman, especially in her most vulnerable state. A man who threatens abuse, forcefully touches her-- he is not attractive, he is abusive, and girls should stay away from people like that. People seem to think that just because it is a fiction show, it is ok to show anything-- no it is not ok.
When I saw that scene, I had the same fears as you, Jyo. Making Satya positive after showing him so negative till now, would be unacceptable. But no, he is still negative. The scene where he forcefully held Antara's shoulders especially when the girl is so emotionally drained, shows exactly what kind of a person he is. He is a selfish asshole, who cares only about himself, and what he wants. He tries to gain her sympathy by narrating his 'sad story', which, if he opens his eyes and looks at himself, will realize isn't very sad at all! Even his problem with his mother stems from his inability to share his mother's attention with Raghu.
And those who seem to think of abusive ppl like Satya as attractive, they should probably read one of the following books:
