So Jalal mistook Jodha's gift as Ruqaiya's?

I think that arrow was Jodha's direction towards her gift and Jalal thought it was Ruqaiya's. I am speculating here. In Bengali we say another name of water is Life. And maybe that is exactly Jodha wanted to show Jalal that how his subjects are surviving from this basic necessity of life. The room in the end of the episode had the reflection all over Jalal's face of liquid gold. I am guessing its a tub of water with glowing lights and glitter showing him the importance of water. But will he realize the significance and importance of this thought? Will wait and watch.
My question here is how did Jodha know people are suffering from lack of water? She never goes out of palace! Then who told her? Or is it because she is Balaji heroine she is omnipresent and omniscient, she knows everything!

Anyway this gift from Jodha might lead him to be the most popular ruler of the Mughal dynasty. Maybe he will earn a title from the masses but don't think it will be "Akbar" yet, it won't be so soon. Unless Jodha's gift does this miracle super fast in the show if not in actual history.

Rahim is adorably cute and loved his admonishing Jalal to go to the neem tree. 😃

Ruqaiya's wrath is justified because she has worked hard for Jalal to get her present but blaming Jodha for it is definitely a no no but then again what can we expect from her! This wrath and jealousy I expected yesterday itself and this will be an eye opener for Jalal and this might change their equation a little. It will push him more towards Jodha.

Overall an ok episode but CV's frankly speaking I expected more today. Why was Jodha holding back? I felt she lacked in warmth in wishing him birthday and later even in her conversation I felt the warmth missing. Unless and until you have something major planned to show tomorrow for this lack in her attitude it won't justify her behavior. Again Jalal had to probe her to get a simple birthday wish from her!
I really wish she will get off from her lecturing mode and behave normal for once. Not every time he needs lessons from her.

And why couldn't Jodha simply explain the meaning of Gayatri mantra to Jalal? Did she want to show him the meaning instead of explaining it to him and thus we see all the glitter in the end signifying the Glory of Sun? Will wait and watch as usual.

I don't blame Jalal in being confused. 😆😆 To get his own gift he has to toil and labor so hard. Thank God only his two begums are thought provoking, if they all were like this he would be running around for one whole year it get his gifts. 😆

Only tomorrow's episode will justify today's episode, so unless I see tomorrow's I can't say whether I liked today's completely. Maybe my expectations were more compared to what I saw. Even their stroll in the village I expected something constructive and thought provoking, qualitative interaction but I didn't get it. Showing the life in general to Shahensha is extremely good but it has to generate that awe inspiring feelings in him as well.

Anyway will wait for tomorrow, usually Thursday episodes so far has always delivered big, so will keep my fingers and toes crossed for tomorrow.

Lana, I have a slightly different take on the entire episode -
Now this is a man who unknowingly yearns for love and peace - he also knows to be humble when the situation demands it (In reality too, we know Akbar used to visit his praja in disguise to note their well-being. Unless, he had a certain amount of humility in him, this wouldn't have been possible!)
Fortunately or unfortunately, in the show - the people surrounding him have always spoon-fed him the POWER IS ALL mantra! So, he's grown up that way - which is not entirely bad seeing he is an Emperor after all!
However, the part of him that yearns for honest intentions, peace and love is lost amongst all this (for e.g. he seeks in it children, in prayers etc) It is this anmol peace which I think Jodha shall grant him/awaken in him!

Besides, I'm certain all his gifts would have either been materialistic or religious so far. Who would have thought of something so philosophical. That's why he's not only confused, but also impatient and irked about NOT understanding it all! It's quite obvious, he expected something 'special' from her - being the Jo that she is!
When his lack of foresight gets to him, he reacts like a kid who's not allowed to open his gift wrapper for the next 4 hours!😆

At the end of it all, he'll be mighty touched and tell himself those lines 'Amer ki shehzaadi aap kahin na kahin kuch kar jaati hain'

Jodha wasn't trying to lecture him. True, I wish she'd wished him first without him asking for it, but I think they were trying to portray her carrying on with her prayers just like Jalal doesn't talk till he's finished his namaaz. Her composed face thereafter might be misread as arrogance... but, I think there is a definite purpose behind it all. It is to show him insight and to gift him something at the same time. (Akbar is known to have consulted with his chief wives on many-a-political matter so again, this needn't be misconstrued at all)
At the village, Jodha was trying to keep hinting that his people FEARED him and RESPECTED his shamsher and his Taaj.
By making him tackle the problem (though it was actually her idea) she has not only made him get the blessings of Allah, she has also made him receive BLESSINGS and LOVE of his subjects...

A day if and when I came to know that 300 people actually started LOVING me instead of just FEARING /RESPECTING me...that is something I'd hold close to my heart FOREVER!
I don't know - I get quite touched by gestures like these...

This, Jodha gave to him at a point in time when he was low - when he was heartbroken that his own were backstabbing him. How noble to get the LOVE of people at this time...people who after this might take up their pitchforks and iron rods to defend the Shehenshah instead of run-away if a rebellion arose...

As a king, there can be nothing greater than your subjects' love and he prides himself on being a king, right? I don't see anything wrong in what she did...actually, I was quite happy that the gift wasn't patching him up with BB😃

Best thing is whatever the jibe Jalal did today, Jodha was the epitome of calmness...she didn't react one bit. It was this calm, decent, civil, CONFIDENT Jodha that I missed!

Maybe you are right Anchal, we will come to know only tomorrow. But if I go by the precap, Ruqaiya was exceptionally angry on Jodha for being the first in line, kind of snatching her bubble. As usual will wait and watch.

maybe jalal will feel that jodha gave him the best gift after he feels his peoples love...he might like jodha's gift best that maybe that is what has irked ruku.

Lashy it wasn't the gift of hers that I felt anything wrong with but the way she executed it. Being calm, dignified is something different but lacking in warmth is something else. Genuinely wishing someone Happy Birthday from the heart wasn't there.

Yes good it has nothing to do with BB but I feel in the end it will have some connection with forgiving BB and it will be revealed tomorrow.

And yes he will get the love and adoration from his subjects for sure and every ruler deserves it and should earn it but at the same time they need to have the authority and power as well to invoke fear and respect or else subjects won't adhere to the ruler's wishes. So along with love and respect a little fear is also necessary and this Jodha will know as well.

My question is how did she know what his subjects want or need? Who told or informed her when Jalal didn't.

Materialistic gifts he will have plenty but something meaningful from near and dear ones is always treasured and appreciated but how and when did Jodha plan all this when she didn't know what to gift him that very morning?

Again will wait for tomorrow to find out. And I expected more in their interactions, I don't mean anything romantic, but more in content, in context, in quality, in approach, in manners, in behavior, in warmth, in gestures...well, ummeed pe duniya kayam hai toh hum bhi honge! 😃

Maybe her material gift will pale in comparison to Jodha's and that is why her vexation! Let's wait and watch, like usual. 😃

The spies of so-called harem gave information about each other, of one begum to another, news of outside world unless and until it was related to the throne or revolution of the masses it wasn't considered important.

Anyway for your sake I will try to look away thinking Jodha had Hindu dasi spies who told her about the problems of the village and masses.

CV's you better give me something constructive to satisfy my curiosity and question.
