Today was a day when DDEJ had three of it's most prominent women at the focus point. Each representing power, rage and vulnerability. Different facets and different emotions. Geeta kaul, Daya Maayi and Antara- it was an ode to them as women.
Geeta kaul- Till now she was the kindhearted mother of Antara who doted on Raghu. A woman who was living under the delusion and who has turned it off when the lights went out on her husband. Somewhere between her hospital visits we just never understood or felt the pain she has suffered. Yes, there was a day when we came close to understanding her emotions- the day Raghu read her the fake letter from her husband. Yet something held us back, we could sympathize with the chirpy idealist daughter Antara but somehow we too resigned ourselves when it came to this "living in the happy bubble" mother. But it was her mangalsutra that was snatched by that blast, it was her sindoor which was whipped by the horror and it was she who lost her love. A mother lost the father of her kids, a wife lost her husband and a woman lost her love. Her pain and after-shock exemplified what Dr Kaul meant to her, her love is what Rantara needs to aim for. Loving after death .And today it all came crashing down on her - the memories, the incident and the loss. The vulnerability of a woman was so beautifully depicted.What will be her journey. How will she forgive Raghu, if ever. There was a sad poignant connection- the woman who destroyed her world initially, was the reason why Geeta's happpy bubble got burst. I hope Geeta Kaul wakes up and be with her daughter, she would have to live and be the love of Dr Kaul in Antara's life and be the guide who steers the innocent souls of Rantara from the dangers.
Daya Maayi- She is a wounded woman. Her own son played against her at the supposed behest of a girl who she considers her Kaal. Antara symbolizes the opposite of whatever DM stands for. She detests the influence and the growth of Antara in her life. She sees the goodness in the former which would shatter her dark world. She wants her out but unfortunately her own game backfired and this young lady not only made ways in her home but has won what she never had- Satya's support. In her hate she doesn't see the pain of Antara or her loss but she sees what Antara means to Satya. Today she laid it all out, the chase has ended and the players are all in the open. No more Maayi of Raghu, she is the Daya Maayi of this basti. So annoyed was she, that she let it all out to Geeta Kaul. In her haste to hurt Antara she miscalculated her own son lifting the sick woman or a desperate Raghu driving the jeep. Worse- she has took the veil off in front of Antara. This will be her first big step toward her doom- her own insecurities , frustrations and arrogance penning her duel with the girl whose father she took!
Antara- There she was- helpless, crying and begging in front of her God to let her live and give her one reason to hold on to her soul. The world has snatched her father and her love but there still remained a mother who was her first friend, who made her appreciate goodness in others. What will she do without her moral compass. Who would Antara be , if the woman who made her was snatched. She has been hiding the truth for sometime fearing the impact of the bitter truth on her innocent mom. She would have taken the proverbial bullet again and again, if it meant her mother get to live the bubble forever. She understands her mom's pain better now because she has also lost her love. She took the battle and her responsibilities on her shoulders because she wants to cast her mother in a security net. She doesn't want her to see the daughter burning in the fire of hate and revenge. She wants to guard her so that the world cannot snatch the last shred of love in her life. The daughter in her would lie, die and kill. Hence the roar and the declaration, she would not be subdued nor will she be merciful if anyone dare snatch this last bastion from her. The mask is off, Antara is aware of the "Evil" now and here on will be her journey to the path of truth. Every action related to Raghu or her own life would be measured by the DM element, she will learn to piece the info when the time comes and perhaps script the revenge on the person who nearly snatched her everything.
