role reversals: Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari |
Raja Chaudhary has been harassing his wife Shweta Tiwari (Prerna of Kasautii Zindagii Kay). No dearies, not in real life.
The trauma is happening in their Bhojpuri production Hamra Sanya Hindustani. Now, he is also going to attempt to rape her in another Bhojpuri film, which the couple signed a few days ago.
The film, titled Eh Bhabhi Ke Sister, is being co-produced and directed by Surendra Pal (Dronacharya of Mahabharat). Shweta is romantically paired opposite popular Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari.
Staging an act
Pal feels that the catchy title will bring people to the theatres. "This is the first time that a Bhojpuri film has a funky title.
But the title is justified because the story revolves round a devar-bhabhi relationship. The devar (Manoj) flips for his bhabhi's (Geeta Tyagi) younger sister (Shweta)," he says.
Why Shweta? Pal explains, "Ever since I saw her in Nach Baliye 2, I had vowed that if I ever make a film, I will cast nobody else but Shweta in the female lead.
She was an outstanding dancer and looked attractive in every frame. I was relieved when she said yes."
Pal says that Raja plays a character inspired by Manu Sharma (the man convicted of murdering model/actress Jessica Lal), who abuses power to prevent getting convicted for his crime. "I have even named him Manu Thakar. Manu believes that the police cannot stop him."
Will Raja feel embarrassed to do the rape scene? Raja replies, "I don't think so. We are actors and this is fiction. While doing a role, I know when to switch on and off."
Eh Bhabhi Ke Sister is being shot in Mumbai, Banaras, Allahabad and Lucknow.
