I loved your take on yesterdays episode. It was strong and to the point and exactly what i was feeling all along.. I never comment although i read quite a few posts down here, but y'days episode just had me so enraged that I HAD TO, and I mean seriously 'bang my head against the tv' had to vent somewhere. Then I came across your post and I realized that you said all the things i want to say and more.
I loved DELENA in season 1 , 2 and 3. I could see the appeal - the bad boy changing himself for the good girl. The good girl, inspite of herself, falling in love with the forbidden relationship. Actually, I didnt care who Elena ended up with, because I loved both the relationships equally so. They were both different and powerful in their own right. What Stefan and Elena had, was magical. A connection so deep that neither one of them could fight it even if they wanted to. They were linked and would always be linked. Throughout the whole ripper phase and the countless obstacles that they faced, their love never diminished, never changed. And it was beautiful to watch. I remember this one scene in season 3 where Ed sheeran is playing gimme love and Elena switches arms from Damon to Stefan. I was like - whoa!!! Now that's love. But Damon and Elena, they had fire and chemistry and change. This was amazing too. But since season 4, i'm just completely off Elena. She is worse off than Katherine. At least Kat is upfront about wanting the two boys. But Elena, she just likes to cloak it in all that innocence. When you are with Stefan - 'be with Stefan'. When you are with Damon - 'be with Damon'. Make one guy feel like he is enough for you. But no - she wants to have her cake and eat it too.
I have never minded Elena and Damon happening as long as it happened the right way...they built her and Stefan's relationship to the point of showing that their love was so true nothing can break it and the way she chose Stefan and said he was the best choice she'd ever made despite all the attraction towards Damon made me see that what they have it's unbreakable...BUT then as soon as her change was complete...Damon feelings escalated and suddenly Stefan wasn't what she wanted anymore and right after she and Stefan breaks up...NO WAITING period for this EPIC love the creatives built up...she moves in to the Salvatore Boarding House and gets it on with Damon and everything's all honky dory...except that she can't leave Stefan alone now...
I'm glad Damon is happy...I've always wanted that for him but Elena made her choice to be with Damon but this season she does seem to want her cake and eat it too...have her love with Damon but also wanting Stefan to be okay with her and for them to be friends...when have they been friends ever...she and Stefan were romantic since the start...no friendship first...the attraction was instant...
Elena since Season 4 seems fickle to me and her confusion of not truly knowing what she wants makes me nervous for Damon who I know loves her a lot and for Stefan who is still nursing his broken heart...
This is why Kat is my fav...she's a b**ch but she's always been upfront and clear on whats he wanted...
What was season 4 about? She wants Stefan for the emotional connection and she wants Damon for sex? Even though season 4 was about Damon and Elena being together all i saw was stefan and elena. And now they have brought the same shit to season 5. The doppelgangers are destined to be together. And i get that. But does Elena have to make it that obvious? What was that comment of hers when she was sitting in the lib with the two brothers? 'Stefan, you know me... probably better than anyone else????' I was like - Hello!!! your boyfriend is sitting right next to you when you say that. Can you please think of him a little...? Afford him a little more consideration than your lapdog who is over here to just do your bidding. And then all her hugging and kissing Stefan - i mean, please lay off the touching a little - he is your ex boyfriend and even though you don't feel the chemistry anymore, he does. He was the one pushing her away, and i mean, that's just sad when she is the one having a boyfriend and claiming to having the summer of her life.
Damon and Elena's relationship does seem passionate than her and Stefan doesn't it? 😳 I feel a reason she can't let go of either of them is because they both call to different sides of her...Stefan is the epitome of the guy she's always wanted...sweet, kind, loving...Where Damon is a wildcard ...the bad boy...but one that's capable of doing the best things for the people he loves...
But yes, she has been inconsiderate and I feel it makes Damon insecure even though he voices it with his snarky dialogues...the prophecy about the Doppelgangers must be upsetting for him because he was a front row viewer to Stefan and Elena's love
Even with her wanting to bring Bonnie back. She wants Bonnie, so she wants Bonnie back. what about the pain that Bonnie will have to endure? Did anyone not think of that? Amara became crazy being the anchor. Does no one care that Bonnie might not be able to handle it? That they will have to find another way if they want her back? Or maybe it would be better for her, if they just let her go, Rather than bring her back for their own selfish reasons. I am sorry, but what they are doing to Bonnie and what they have done so far is not acceptable in my book. I wanted to slap Elena at that time when she was listening to Amara explain how being the anchor is destroying her and then to Stefan, when she said that she would do anything to bring Bonnie back. That's just ten shades of selfish of her.
Elena has always been selfish...i remember when she was delirious after killing the hunter and Kat came to her in a delusion and told her that she's the reason people die around her...as harsh as that was...it was kind of true...it really always bugs me that everyone is always ready to sacrifice their lives and other people's's lives to save Elena...
As much as I wanted Bonnie back...they were being selfish...everyone always needs to please her and make sure she's happy...what about Bonnie's mother becoming a vampire because they were trying to save her...or Bonnie dying so Elena didn't have to lose her last family member...or Jenna dying because Klaus needed her blood...or John dying to save her life...all because of Elena...most of these deaths...
IT WAS SO SAD WATCHING STEFAN RELIVE EVERYTHING AND THEN SAYING - this was supposed to be over now... why is it still happening? That got to me and i almost teared. How much is this guy supposed to suffer? He left to save his brother, became someone he hated so that his brother could be alive, turned his back on the woman he loved only to realize that his brother was making all kinds of moves on his girlfriend in his absence and his girlfriend was letting him. He comes back, they reunite, all the declarations of forever ever and then his gf leaves him for his brother. He still doesn't leave her, makes sure she is okay, before he lets her go so that she can have her happy ending. And now she has the balls, the guts to tell him how her summer was the best there ever was?? Can someone please kill her and make her the anchor to the other side? Please let her suffer some? This Elena doesn't look like she is at all over Stefan. In fact the more the season progresses the more i realize - its always gonna be Stefan. I just wish she would realize it so that she can put both the brothers out of their misery.
I am looking forward to the other characters now - human Katherine intrigues me, i am always up for some Caroline, she is the best, and i wish she would knock some sense into Elena and tell her she belongs with Stefan before she screws up things even more, Tessa, Silas and Amara are not done yet, that's what i feel and then that Dr Wes and the new guy - very creepy. But what the hell, some pretty crazy suspense. Bonnie is awsome and i look forward to seeing more of her.
Caroline is my new fav character...she's grown from the character she was in Season 1 and I still ship her and Klaus even if he's in New Orleans now...I hope they find some way for Kat to live...she's the most interesting doppelgangers...
Waiting for the next episode, and my weekly fix of Stefan - Paul Wesley is so HOT.
Yes he is esp when he's being bad 😳 But I love me my Ian Somerhalder any day...The Salvatore brothers are swoonworthy...
