Episode 429 Discussion: 14th Nov 2013

Welcome to the Episode discussion thread which we call as Viewer's and Reader's Respite. That's very apt, don't you think ? 😉. And that proves our objective.

Objective behind the thread is

It helps in keeping the forum clean without much litter. People just need to fall in a habit.
We can have it like breathers at first followed by analysis.
It also helps like-minded souls and pals bond and gel together to drop in their thoughts for themselves as breathers and for their friends as a peep into the episode and for others to post their reviews.
And those from different time-zones, who do not get to watch the episode at this time of telecast (Indian 8:30 PM), without any worry to trace or keep track of all their buddy's posts, they can come here, read with leisure and later post their analysis after watching it from their Time zones.

Note for Newcomers to this thread.

Extremist thoughts and moralizing thoughts are not welcome over this thread. It is entertainment show we are watching. The channel calls their programs as entertainment and we are watching the show. Discussions are welcome in light hearted and in realistic manner. Moral policing is not appreciated. We do not want to feel stifled into that kind of atmosphere here.

There are several other social welfare sites that are there to discuss the genuine issues. If for some reason, it is felt that social concerns have to be addressed and ethical and moral responsibility needs to be exercised for watching entertainment, then; certainly the forum is an open place to create separate ATs and build up that kind of propaganda.

Please heed to this as direct request and conditional requirement to participate in this thread. Strong words such as psychopaths unless used in show, need not be used to instigate riotous atmosphere or start sermonizing.

POINTERS for Writing/Posting of your reviews and thoughts over this EDT

Do not litter the thread with chit-chat conversations. A little is permitted to have the friendly atmosphere, but when you feel like chatting more, it is desired you take your conversation with your buddies to alternate venues like chat clubs, pm mode etc.
Quoting Policy: It is desired that people refrain from single, double, triple and multiple quoting of posts on a repetitive basis. They can pick out the parts that they like to quote as opposed to quoting the entire post. It is often seen that we have to scroll through the pages when all they have done is quoting and more quoting with one line response to the actual post. IF has a rule that more than three times quoting is not allowed. But nowadays as people read IF posts over phone, it is preferred that people do not quote longer posts and just extract the portions of the post that they like to respond to and if they still find it relevant to their thought process then get the entire quoted text.
Regulate the font size. Keep remembering that. It is really not pleasing to see big bolded letters for no special reason.
The thread becomes a mess when you give your review and do not REST for sometime until others have posted. Please understand, respites or reviews; once or twice are good for few pages...don't make a regular chat thread with your reiterating/whining/complaining on the same point. For the online readers, the thread becomes unpleasant read. There is a separate Complaints thread in Main Forum
When episodic content is emotional, take a deep breath, give a good lengthy review; that acts as your vent in one single post...and make an exit to calm down your nerves if you still are possessed by only what you've seen.

TRP Analysis: Week 45 November 3rd to November 9th, 2013

The two charts below show: 1) Top 15 shows TRPs and 2) TRP increase/drop for those shows, compared to the week prior. The blue bars on the second chart are the ones that did better, the red are the ones that did worse, and the no bars are the ones that were the same. TVTs (which I believe do provide an accurate picture of relative rankings) were used to rank the shows.

Note: this is a rough analysis. Please feel free to point out any holes.

Thanks Meenu for the chart...I was noticing that in a few months , only the ME with SRK or RM's wedding got better response...it's good news we're moving up at a snail's pace..otherwise 3-4 weeks back we thought the TRPs will fall below 2

Diwali episode, did we expect any better? every festival / pooja in MBLand is doomed...no surprises..

my take on diff. characters

RK - (@Mamatha, RK copied ur line "main main main main" 🤣) gives a good dose to Madhu but she's still clueless.. acc. to her everything should be perfect ...murthy is happy, MC is happy, film is going fine , Pabo , Dips are quiet and surprises of all surprise, Radha se batti bhi ho gayi in the background ! so ideally RK should be gleefully celebrating his downfall..nyways , he cud be as direct as possible but therez an old saying..bhains ke aage rona and apne nain khona..it's better that he comes out of this self pity mode & fight his battles alone...i wanted to cry with him in the end scene when he collapsed..and he saw the decorations in his room but he was all alone..there was nobody to share his sorrow or joy..how can he celebrate when he's going through the worst phase of his life? the decorations BTW were beautiful, specially the diyas below the pic of RM ...and i liked what he told her "jab main apna sab kuch kho chuka hoon toh hosh ka bojh utha ke kyun ghoomon" ...VD acted brilliantly ! more on it later

RK mansion - now the rangoli is also jinxed..laxmi mata ke charan baahar phir andar phir gayab !

Pabo - she was bearable today..i understand her reasons for celebrating Diwali , it's a shagun...i liked what she said abt RK's dushmans..half of them are out and remaining (Pabo and Dips na?) will be out very soon 😆

Dips - i liked her struggle with rangoli..comic relief..

Mr. Murthy - Anaconda aarti gaa rahe hain 🤣 Mr. Murthy ki manhoos shakal nahi dekhni..unhappy diwali to u and ur bloody bank

RK and doctor - hilarious...and i liked his prescription ...aapko stress nahi lena 🤣 very soon biwi and pati dono ko stress na lene ki zaroorat hogi..RK's signature taunts were funny today..aapko meri biwi ke saath rammi khelni hai 🤣

Madhu - she was dying to be in RK mansion for celebrating karvachauth but not diwali? can they give her better clothes? 🤔 these body hugging suits are an eye sore..isse toh tent theek the..nyhow, i only remember 2 things by her today "main main main" and "tum hosh kho baithe ho"...so when did RK talk normally to Radha in the last few months? n looks like she wasn't too much affected with RK's narazgi etc. etc. nor was she feeling guilty tht she cud not be with her family on Diwali...khe khe karke Roma ke saath aa rahi thi 🤪

Bittuji - should change his job profile..

Radha - loved RK's taunts to her..why does SHE want to celebrate diwali? 🤣 that was a good recap..her husband is in jail and stepson is absconding...her son is paralyzed and bahu has no time for diwali...good decision taken by her...raho farm house mein..

breakfast table - good decision taken by RK 👏 let him assert his role...

everybody in RKland, sorry MBland was BBB'd today and i thoroughly enjoyed it..

A sad episode today - in fact, just what I would expect the Diwali episode in MB land to be. 🤣

The fissures in the relationship: Madhu is still clueless in a way - wondering why RK is behaving the way he is, whereas he is completely chafing at his disability, feeling helpless and suffocated by her solicitude. Will these two find a middle ground somewhere?

Liked how Madhu asserts her rights as his wife, and asks him the reason for his behavior. And then feistily asks him why he misinterprets love and care to be a favor. And RK equally passionately talking about how those very actions make him feel worse.
Evilness and Dips and Weakling were the usual - to be honest, I just skimmed through those scenes. But clearly, the two are exulting in witnessing the divide between RM - a divide that seems to be widenning by the minute.
Evilness says RK's enemies will be out of the house? Is this a hint that she planning on taking a long trip somewhere?
RK with the doctor - wanting to know how soon he can get better. And the doctor telling him that stress wouldn't help matters. Oops.
Well, at least Anaconda aka bank manager seems happy. Can I hope that he is going to be phased out?
Predictably, Madhu makes a beautiful rangoli, and I was weirdly glad when she moved away just as pendulum Weakling was about to give her aashirvaad (all because Madhu made the rangoli???)
I liked Madhu's retort to Dips on who is true and who is fake. Weakling was weakly watching with a morose face. Pendulum swings back and forth, back and forth...
So RK does not want Diwali in the house, and shuffles through the very same rangoli Madhu made.
The scene in the bedroom was very poignant and heart-wrenching. RK walking in to the beautifully decorated room. Interesting choice of scenes from the past that he remembered. And then him dropping the photo-frame - loved that he actually goes down on the floor to get it. Poor man, looked so defeated. Very touching and sad.
Great acting again by DVD, but really, it was VD's show. I loved watching these two gorgeous tortured souls. And some fantastic dialogues today. And, wait, was it the Mercedes that I spotted? Yaaayyy!

-RK clearly spells out to madhu that her actions are making him feel sick 👏 👏

and this stupid woman still doesnt get it...

-RK says with a smirk 'naah RK is not finished' and madhu asks him kya kaha tumne...honestly i got my hopes rising there coz i thought she suddenly got brains and she was trying to make him repeat his words 'rk is not finished' but but but, she was busy defending herself and proving with the forever sick 'cant u see my love for u?' 😡

-i m very happy that RK went to the doctor alone 😳...i was spared of one more 'main thik kar doongi'

-deepali was looking cute while making the rangoli (i never thought i wud say this~! 😲)

-after returning from doc RK's dialogues were bang on! i totally agree with RK 'kiya kya hai bhagwaan ne tumhaare liye? tumhaare pati ke haatho tumhaare bete ki maut ki koshish!' 👏 👏

-madhu once again repeats 'RK MAIN promise karti hoon sab thik ho jaayega' 😡 😆 🤢

-'koi deewali nahi hogi, ho sake utna andhera karo' 👏 👏 and then he drags his feet right acrross the rangoli 😎 i like! i love this about RK... just dont believe in anything, koi upshagun waali negative baat dimaag mein aayegi hi nahi

-this was awesome dhamaka 😆...i like this 'go to hell everybody' behaviour of RK 😆

-then back to RK's bedroom...RK angry n depressed about his helplessness..(VD os very gud 👏)

the way he was remembering the old memories...i noticed they were all before the unwedding...when madhu wanted RM's cute si duniya and then it didnt happen coz he broke her...exactly then the BG plays 'tujhe todna tha maksad mera' and there RK is all broken...is it poetic justice by any chance? 🤔

precap : madhu saying 'bappa aap jaante hain mujhe RK ki kitni ZAROORAT hai' and i was thinking if, just if she said these words to RK ! stupid woman!

A good episode with RK'ish dialogues. Bhag R.K bhag.😆 Madhu as usual baffles .R.K spelled out what is bothering him and she is still clueless about the real issue. Waves red flag with Main Promise karo sab kuch blah blah.Why can't it be simply sab kuch thik hoga. Again when he said I am not finished for a moment I too expected she wants him to repeat and remind himself about his ability to bounce back NO . Madhu is always right and she does it for love. Another track which would culminate in she wondering what is her fault. and R.K apologizing for his rude behavior. Well deserving BBB to Radhaji. Liked R.K rubbishing Diwali.Natural reaction for what he is going through. Anyway we know they are going to celebrate. it in the chawl..Amazing Vivian esp in his room..Going by MAdhu's reaction I feel separation is in the cards.

Nice decorations. Why do they spend a lot when every festival in the show is marred with negativity.

Was waiting for page 2 for this random comment...but anyway...For some strange reason, somehow seeing that Mercedes gave me a bit of a psychological boost. Maybe because it evoked those golden days; or that regardless of the current situation, our superstar is surrounded by the trappings of power and isn't running around in some random nondescript car. Whatever it was, it made me feel good...😃

yeah i was thinking abt it yest..in her opinion everything is perfect , she loves him and he loves her..but what's the point when it's all about "me me me" ? that's not the case but her actions are interpreted such...IMO when you love someone then do it the way he likes and not the way you like it...when the opposite party does the same, balance is achieved...like always, RK will feel guilty for shouting on her (which he should bec. abhi toh aisa kuch hua hi nahi) but its a danger signal for Madhu, which she will ignore..obviously..

n i was elated with him going to the doctor on his own...i hate it when they create a bechari image of RK...he managed on his own ...and he will be normal very soon (ya Madhu sab theek kar degi😆), i'm glad they are not following a clunk route n show him getting up on his own , or after some shocking incident...
