Chapter 10
While in Arjun's room
"Sab ulta ho gaya! How can I marry her for god's sake!" Arjun was telling Rathore.
"We'll try talking to her again tomorrow, and as from right now, we'll start looking for Shree, and if need be we'll bribe the priest to give a date which is months away!" Rathore trying to cheer his friend up.
The next day in the morning
Arjun tried his best to talk with his mother, but she was avoiding him at every instance. And soon it was time to go to work, he couldn't stay more. Before going to work, he called Liza outside of the house and told her, "I'm sorry, this seems very complicated. She isn't even willing to hear me out! Unfortunately me and Rathore have a meeting with the commissioner, I can't postpone this. I'll try to talk with her later and dissuade her from this madness of hers," he turned to put his glares on and was going to open the door of his SUV, when he remembered something and turned back to stare at her, "However as long as I don't say, don't do anything on your own which would make her more stressed! And take this notion out of your mind that when I'm not here, you can go and fool her! If you ever hurt her, I promise you'll regret it your whole life!" He got in his SUV and went away.
"Gosh! Why does this happen only to me? Now what do I do? I don't even know if that khadoos will even manage to talk with his mother, and what if she really had to marry him! Nahin!!!!" Sakshi shouted. She had just spoken those words that she heard someone calling Liza's name.
For one moment she didn't understand why anyone would be calling for Liza, completely having forgotten that she was faking to be Liza, when she suddenly turned and saw Mrs Rawte, calling Liza's name again. She ran back in the house, following Mrs Rawte closely.
Mrs Rawte went to sit on a sofa, and waited for Liza to come and sit next to her. Mrs Rawte kept looking at her for a very long and didn't say anything. Sakshi wondered what Mrs Rawte wanted to see by observing her so much.
Sakshi was holding her hands very tightly, and twisting her fingers with anticipation of what was going to happen. And she was completely alone here, neither she could lie nor she could tell the truth! Some mess she was in lately!
Suddenly someone knocked on the door, and within a few seconds a priest entered the house. Sakshi stared at the priest in a shocked way, "Oh no, what now?"
"Panditji, namaste, mein aap hi ka intezaar kar rahi thi," Mrs Rawte said.
"Yeh meri hone wali bahu hein," Mrs Rawte said mentioning to Sakshi.
"Namaste," Sakshi managed to get out of her mouth, though she felt herself getting more and more trapped, and only wanted to scream and run away from here.
Mrs Rawte told the panditji that she was in a hurry to get his son and Liza's marriage. The panditji asked for their kundli, for doing the matchmaking.
"Liza, do you have your kundli or not," Mrs Rawte asked.
Finally Sakshi thought she'd have a way to get out, she was going to say no.
"Nahin Mrs Rawte, I don't have any kundli at all," Sakshi said relieved. This might earn her a few days, and who knows maybe by then Liza would be back.
"Panditji, ab hum kya kare?" Mrs Rawte asked.
"Koi problem nahin hein, I'll make her kundli, just give me some details on her birth date and time," the priest said eagerly to help them, which earned him a glare from the future bahu. Little did he know of the drama being played here.
Despite not wanting it, Sakshi had no choice but to give her details. Since she wasn't used to lying much, she didn't even realize that she could easily have given fake details, but instead she gave her true birth dates and time, and answered all questions asked by the priest.
"Mrs Rawte, I'll get her kundli made, and the matching of both kundlis done. Main kal phir aaounga," the priest said and bidding his goodbye, went away leaving a distressed Sakshi behind.
"Aur hain, please give us the closest date possible," Mrs Rawte said before the priest had left, hoping that this Jodi would be well matched. She knew that these were orthodox things, but she still believed in the traditions and rituals, and besides even if their kundlis hadnt matched she didn't really have any choice, but to get them married. But that is something she'd think about only after the priest had done his part.
Only then did Mrs Rawte really turned to look at Liza and remembering what Liza had said to the priest, and said "Sakshi, such a beautiful name, then why do you call yourself Liza?"
"Woh mein, I mean," Sakshi started to stammer, not knowing what to say at all.
"Well I'll call you Sakshi as from now, since this is your real name," Mrs Rawte said, got up and was going to leave when she remembered something and turned to look back at Sakshi, "I'm feeling very tired. I'll go back to my room and rest a bit!"
"Ab mein kya karoon? Tomorrow the priest would be here with all details," Sakshi said to herself. She had to talk with Arjun, but she didn't even know his mobile number to call him back. Soon she heard Aryan starting to cry, she put that aside and went to see Aryan, mentally planning to talk with Arjun as soon as he returned back home.
At the ETF office
Aisha entered the office with a strange feeling today. She had been working here for one year now, and she always loved coming here, but today she felt like wanting to run away. Probably because while before none knew about her past, due to past events, now both her seniors knew a bit on her past, though not everything, but still now they knew she was married. She wondered how will they treat her now? And how will Rathore exactly react? She didn't understand why she was dreading more facing Rathore at all.
She had completely forgotten to talk with Sakshi this morning. She planned that tonight she'd have to go and see her. She hoped everything was going well on Sakshi's side also.
She said good morning to everyone she saw, and a bit worried walked towards the conference room. But to her luck, no one was there except Chotu.
Soon both had started to talk and Chotu told her that both their seniors weren't here for the time being. She was relieved, though she knew that this face-off had only been postponed not avoided completely.
"They'll shortly be coming however, they had gone to meet the commissioner!" Chotu said.
Both decided to wrap up all their pending reports till Arjun and Sameer returned.
Suddenly the silence was broken by Aisha's mobile ringing. She raised it and saw ACP Rathore's name flashing. She was debating whether to pick up or not, and then thought why she should feel nervous for things which she never had any control on. She decided that she'd put everything behind her and face whatever came at her. She answered her call, and was summoned to Rathore's office.
One hour earlier
Rathore and Arjun had gone to meet the Commissioner. They saluted him and both took their seat, waiting for the reason why the Com had called them.
They discussed issues about the security in the country and the crime rate and other important tasks, and soon Arjun and Rathore left from there.
They soon reached their office, and Rathore and Arjun went to his office. They were discussing about the pending cases and reports, when Arjun thought about Aisha.
"Rathore, we need to talk with Aisha," Arjun suddenly stated.
"I doubt we need to talk with her. It's her personal life, what she does outside the working hours, is none of business," Rathore said coldly.
Arjun stared at Rathore strangely and said, "Sam I wasn't talking about Aisha's personal life. I was telling you to call Aisha, so that she could her inputs to the pending reports!"
Rathore was embarrassed on hearing Arjun's words, and what was worst was that Arjun was looking at Rathore in a pensive way. To prevent Arjun from asking any disturbing questions, Rathore immediately called Aisha to his office.
Rathore was sitting on his chair, while Arjun was standing watching outside, waiting for Aisha to come, when suddenly Arjun's mobile started to ring. Arjun took his mobile out and saw that it was his mother calling. He excused himself from Rathore and went away to pick up the mobile.
"Hain Ma,kya hoowa?" Arjun asked.
"Kuch bhi nahin! I only called to say that you and Sakshi's marriage would be fixed as soon as possible. I have already asked the priest to give me an auspicious date!" Mrs Rawte said.
"Oh come on Ma, I'm not marrying her!" Arjun replied back angrily.
"Well you should have thought about it before having Aryan! It's pointless to argue! There's no way my grandson will remain illegitimate! You and Sakshi are getting married as soon as I can arrange it, and that is final!" Mrs Rawte replied back coldly.
"But Ma," Arjun started when suddenly he realized something, "Who's Sakshi?" he asked.
"What do you mean who's Sakshi? Sakshi is the real name of Liza, that's the name she gave the priest for preparing her kundli, her real name is Sakshi Anand!" Mrs Rawte replied back a bit irritated. She didn't understand why her son was asking such pointless question.
"You and Sakshi are getting married! And you better just agree!" Mrs Rawte said back and cut the call, taking advantage of Arjun's silence.
Arjun barely realized what his mother said at the end, he was only concentrating on the name, "Sakshi Anand". But Sakshi was Liza's friend nah, as from Shree's pictures in his folder and the information he had been able to gather on Liza. While Liza's full name, as written on Aryan's birth certificate, was Liza Malhotra. Just what was happening? He couldn't seem to understand anything now. He called up Neha, and asked her to gather further information on Sakshi Anand and Liza Malhotra, anything she could get would be useful. "Kuch to choot raha hain," he said to himself.
Arjun returned back to go into Rathore's office, but he started to hear voices emerging from the office as he neared it.
