Until all the children are free there is no freedom for any of us. Child labour is an indictment on us. A society that fails to protect its children, fails to protect its future.
I understand that there are reasons why some children are forced to work, survival of themselves and their families depend on it. However, we the people who employ them must begin to deeply question our own morality and duty to the upliftment of our society. We must not continue to subject children to situations that threaten their growth and development and snatches away any prospect that they have of breaking out of the cycle of poverty.
Millions of children the world over daily go through the travails of Kalpi and worse. This serial is doing good in showing this and we should strongly support it. Let us together speak up and keep this serial on air to raise the issues facing domestic workers and children in particular.
