Chapter 8

They all finally reached the front door, and Arjun opened it and all went inside.

They had barely put one foot inside, that Aryan, who had been sleeping peacefully till then, started to cry.

"Shhhsss, mera bacha kya hoowa?" Sakshi said to a crying Aryan and started to swing him in her arms trying to calm her down.

"Make him stay quiet?" Arjun said glaring at her.

"I'm trying to do that itself, but maybe if you think yourself better, why don't you try to quiet him," Sakshi said angrily, and put Aryan in Arjun's arms.

"What the hell are you doing?" Arjun said irritably, and looked at a crying baby in his arms. He didn't know what to do with this baby, and on top Aryan was only crying and crying. Arjun's ears started to ring with Aryan's shouts. He was still deciding what to do when suddenly he heard a voice asking, "Itna shor kyun hein?" and he turned to see his mother getting down on the stairs.

Mrs Rawte had been cleaning her room, when she heard a baby crying.

"But there's no baby in my house?!" she said to herself, and continued her work, thinking that it was all her imagination, but then the sounds of baby crying didn't stop. So she got out of her room, and deduced that the sounds were coming from the living room. She had just started to get down the stairs, when she saw an unknown girl handing a baby in Arjun's arms.

Mrs Rawte walked towards them, all the while looking at the baby in Arjun's arms. Arjun was staring with guilt and scared eyes at his mother. He quickly gave Aryan back to Liza, and then turned towards his mum and said, "Mama, this is Liza and Aisha, her bhabhi."

Mrs Rawte acknowledged these two unknown girls, but her eyes kept on coming on Aryan, "and who is this baby?"

Arjun was lost, he didn't know how to tell his mother the truth. He was still pondering on that when his mother again asked, "Arjun, yeh bacha kaun hein? Aur yeh ladkiyons yahan kis liye?"

But still Arjun didn't know what to say, he was having a sudden panic attack to tell his mother the truth. He looked at Rathore for help, he wouldn't be able to tell the truth.

Rathore felt Arjun looking at his way, he understood that Arjun wouldn't be able to tell the truth. He strode forward and put his hands on her shoulders and said, "Aunty mein sab bata ta hoon!"

Mrs Rawte removed her eyes from Aryan, to look at Arjun and then again at Rathore.

"Rathore yeh sab kya hein? Why are you all keeping silent? Why isn't anyone telling me anything!" Mrs Rawte said a bit scared.

"Who Aunty-ji, baat yeh hein ki," Rathore started but didn't know how to complete the truth. 'Shit, I never thought it would be that difficult! I'm getting scared as if the baby was mine," Rathore thought to himself.

Mrs Rawte was in the meantime adding things up in her mind, and the worst things were coming to her mind. She looked at Aryan crying in that Liza's arms, and looked back at Arjun's guilty face. She looked back at Rathore, even Rathore looked guilty and scared.

"Will someone just tell me the truth?" Mrs Rawte shouted at top of her voice.

All looked scared at her, Sakshi was getting even more scared than everyone. She didn't know what to do anymore, both Arjun and Rathore seemed to have lost their tongues. And she could hardly tell the truth, so she continued to look only at Aryan and trying to quiet him down a bit.

Aisha didn't believe it at all, her seniors, the ACPs whom all criminals in Mumbai were scared of, were standing like innocent kids infront of this lady, and neither dared open up their mouths. So these ACPs were afraid of Arjun's mother, which was something very funny even to her, since Arjun's mother didn't look at all frightening.

Anyone in Arjun's mother's place would be scared at finding a strange girl with a baby in her house. And her two seniors were making it more alarming by their silence. She saw that Arjun and Rathore were looking at each other, each saying telling the other to start.

Not being able to bear the alarm in Arjun's mother's face anymore, Aisha decided to be the one to break the silence. She was confused on how to proceed though, she could tackle with criminals, but how does one pacify and talk to a distraught mother. But better she said the truth, because by now she was sure none of her ACPs had the guts to say anything.

"Dekhiye Aunty-ji, yeh baby na, ouska naam Aryan hein, and he's your grandson," Aisha said as gently as possible.

Everyone turned to look at her, Sakshi looking at her with disbelief, Arjun and Rathore as if they wanted to kill her, and Mrs Rawte as if she was a liar.

"I'm not lying, aap Arjun ya Rathore Sir se pooch sakte hein,"Aisha started but Mrs Rawte stopped her from saying anything more.

Mrs Rawte looked angrily at Arjun, Rathore and that Liza, and said, "Mera beta sach keh sakta hein? What is the truth?"

Arjun went to stand in front of his mother, tried to put his hand on her shoulder, but she threw it away. He stood like a culprit and said, "She's saying the truth. This baby, Aryan, is your grandson. The first heir to this family. He's..." He had been going to say that this baby was Shree's, but he never got the opportunity, because he got a tight slap on his face.

He held onto his cheek and looked at his mother, and tried to clear her misunderstanding, but she raised her hand as if to stop him from uttering anything.

"Bas! How could you do something like this Arjun? Kya yehi sanskar diya hein maine tujhe?" Mrs Rawte said furiously with tears in her eyes.

"I had such big hope on you. I was so proud of you! After you father died, you looked after this whole family. I only thought that Shree was the black sheep of the family. I could have expected something like this from him, but from you never!" she continued and gave Arjun another slap. She grabbed her by his collars and shook him, not believing at all that his son had brought so much shame on her.

"How could you do something like that?" she said and looked at Aryan in that girl's hands.

Mrs Rawte released Arjun and went to stand in front of Sakshi and said with furious and teary eyes, "How could you do something like that? What is wrong with this generation? Having a baby without even getting married?!" Mrs Rawte turned back to Arjun and was going to tell him something more, when suddenly she fainted. Arjun and Rathore rushed to grab her before she hit the ground. They picked her up, and took her to her room.

"Call the doctor immediately Sam!" Arjun said.

While in the meantime Aisha and Sakshi kept looking at the scenes going in front of them. Sakshi felt very sad and guilty when she saw Mrs Rawte fainting. She knew she was the one to be blamed, after all nothing like this would have happened, if she hadn't been to see Arjun at all.

Sakshi stared a bit worriedly at Aisha, "Bhabhi why did you tell her the truth?"

"But Sakshi, they were too coward to tell her the truth! We could have stood like this the whole morning the way things were going! I only tried to help them. And besides to cover one lie, one has to tell one hundred lies. You should have considered all this before lying to Arjun, and even Arjun Sir should have considered this before bringing Aryan here. I was ready to take you two at my place, but nope Arjun Sir was determined to bring you both here," Aisha said patiently.

Sakshi felt bad for having questioned Aisha, "Still Bhabhi, this was their family's problem." She stared towards the stairs where Arjun and Rathore had taken Mrs Rawte. She hoped and prayed that nothing would happen to her.

Chapter 9

Soon they saw a doctor entering the house, and Rathore came down to take him to Mrs Rawte's room. Sakshi and Aisha waited for one hour downstairs, they sat on the sofa, not knowing what to do anymore. Sakshi had already fed Aryan, and made him sleep. Her arms were hurting from holding Aryan for so long, but it seemed as if Arjun had already forgotten about them being here. Arjun was still up there. If she only could disappear, maybe go to Aisha's place, but she knew Arjun would come after her.

They were still sitting on the sofa, when they saw the doctor coming down with Arjun and Rathore.

"Dekho her BP is very high, she seemed to have gotten a big shock! Please try not to stress her anymore!" the doctor was saying, "I have given her an injection, she'll be sleeping till afternoon. After that please buy those medicines I have asked you, and please give her them on time! But please remember, don't stress her at all now!" and went away.

Arjun looked so worried and tired, and asked Rathore to go and buy those medicines. Finally Arjun turned to look at the unwelcomed guests in his house, how he felt like wringing Shree's neck at this precise instant. But one look at Sakshi's worried face, he knew he couldn't remove his anger on them either.

"Come, I'll show you your room," Arjun said. He led them to upstairs and opened one door, "this is the nursery. Me and shree have stayed here, while we were young!"

"And your room, are adjoined to it, through this internal door," Arjun said.

"I'll have your suitcases brought up, just relax. In one hour, come down for lunch!" he said and went away.

"Ok Sakshi, I think I'll just go now. Have a rest," Aisha said, and was going to go away, but Sakshi held onto her arm and said, "Nahin, don't leave me alone here. How will I do?"

So despite wanting to go away, Aisha had no choice but to calm Sakshi and stay with her for some hours more.

Like Arjun had ordered, Sakshi and Aisha never went out of the room, till it was time for lunch. And even then they had lunch all alone, no one came down. They again went up in their room after their lunch.

"Sakshi, I have to go now," Aisha said softly.

"Bhabhi, don't leave me now please, at least not till Mrs Rawte gets well?" Sakshi asked.

But before Aisha could say anything, they heard a knock on her door. Sakshi went to open the door, and saw Rathore out.

"Aunty is calling for you. But please don't tell anything to stress her," Rathore asked politely and couldn't refrained from adding, "Better you go alone!"

"He's right Sakshi. She must want to talk with you privately," Aisha asked giving Sakshi courage to go.

Both went away leaving Aisha all alone in the room. Aisha was happy that Mrs Rawte was fine now, and since she felt she had already outstayed her time here, she took her bag, wrote a note for Sakshi and went away, since she had to meet an informer also in one hour. She also knew that this was the perfect time to run away, she also didn't want any questions from anyone. She was sure everyone would be busy with Mrs Rawte.

On the other side, Sakshi couldn't stop herself from asking in the corridor, "Mr Rathore, aab Mrs Rawte kaisi hein?"

"She's fine, very angry at Arjun and you, but she's a strong lady," Rathore replied back.

"Did Arjun managed to tell her the truth?" Sakshi asked.

'Nope, since she woke up, she hasn't even talked with Arjun. She's refusing to hear us out at all completely. She wanted to meet you first," Rathore said.

They reached Mrs Rawte's room, they knocked on the door and went in.

Mrs Rawte was lying on her bed, she still looked very weak, while Arjun was standing near the window staring outside.

"Please come and sit next to me," Mrs Rawte said. Sakshi took a chair and went to sit next to her bed.

Mrs Rawte looked at Sakshi's face for a long time, and finally she said, "You two have to get married now!" shocking everyone in the room.

Sakshi looked shockingly at Mrs Rawte and Arjun. While Arjun was looking angrily at Sakshi and his mother.

"Mama, please try to understand," Arjun started.

"Not one word more Arjun, what else do you have to say after doing all this," Mrs Rawte said coldly.

"But I haven't done anything" Arjun tried to say, but Mrs Rawte again stopped him, "Despite doing all this, you still have the courage to defend yourself! It's final, tomorrow I'm calling the priest and we'll look for an auspicious time to get you two married! Now you all can leave me from here!"

Sakshi got up and left the room completely in shock mode, "hey god what is happening? I can't marry him!" she said to herself.

She waited for Arjun outside of the room and said, "I can't marry you! You have to do something!"

Arjun glared at Liza, and said coldly, "I also have no interest in marrying Shree's girlfriend! She's still weak now, tomorrow I'll try to talk with her! And tell her the truth!"

Sakshi agreed to Arjun's suggestions and both left to go to their respective room.

In Sakshi's room

"Bhabhi, she telling me to marry Arjun!" Sakshi said with a pale face as soon as she entered inside of her room. But Aisha wasn't to be seen. Sakshi was scared that Aisha has also left her, till her eyes fell on Aisha's note. She picked it up and read it. She felt guilty again, for not having made Mrs Rawte ill, but also for creating problems in Aisha's life. After everything which happened in their past, Aisha didn't really need to help Sakshi. Yet she was helping Sakshi out, that was why Sakshi had always loved and respected Aisha even back then.

But still that didn't solve her recent problem? Mrs Rawte expected her to marry Arjun? To marry that arrogant, snobbish, violent person. Impossible, even if he was the last man in this world, she wouldn't marry Arjun ever, she said to herself.

While in Arjun's room

"Sab ulta ho gaya! How can I marry her for god's sake!" Arjun was telling Rathore.

"We'll try talking to her again tomorrow, and as from right now, we'll start looking for Shree, and if need be we'll bribe the priest to give a date which is months away!" Rathore trying to cheer his friend up.
