"Hell has no fury like a woman scorned..."
Or should we say a woman who feels scorned because this then very aptly applies to Shirin Rashid Khan... as the problem here lies within Shirin herself whose insecurity is making her feel scorned when in reality no one has done anything to scorn her.
Now before coming to today's episode, i would like to point out some things.
Many including me has been wondering what the purpose of ZoYaan track was.. And today's episode cleared it for me.
1. QH has always being marketed as a family drama and the main plot of the story revolves around some past incidents which caused a turmoil in the lives of all the protagonists. And the triangle of Dilshad - Rashid - Shirin is pivotal in the story and this fact was established in the first few episodes itself.
2. Story runs on conflicts.. And since this a family drama created around the conflicts of two families, there has to be more base for continued conflicts within the family... And that was the main purpose of ZoYaan track.
3. I remember reading in an interview of Gul Khan that Zoyaan track was planned from the beginning and now i believe that its the truth and they have also stuck to what they have planned.. i see a lot of comments being passed that the low TRP forced them to change the track and bring AsYa together.
4. well, i feel that the makers have stuck to what they have planned regardless of TRP... If we think about it there always was a hint of ZoYaan happening from the beginning of QH itself, but as story progressed, AsYa was established so well... Why? because AsYa were always meant to be together and there was never any intention of a typical Love triangle track between Asad - Zoya and Ayaan...
The track was always meant to be a much more complicated thing as it has happened now and it may even complicate more in future with Ayaan turning against Asad and Zoya.. but it will never be a typical love triangle even in future.
now coming to today's episode, like i said earlier Shirin behaved like a woman scorned when in reality no one has scorned her.
Shirin as the second wife of Rashid always feel insecure and the fact that she knows that Rashid loves Dilshad and not her keeps on eating her and every misfortune or every problem that she faces in life, she blames on Dilshad and her children.
"Allah why is it that her children gets happiness at the expense of my children?"
This cry of Shirin established more future conflicts and one of the purpose of ZoYaan track.
Earlier Nikhat - Imran - Najma triangle was established and Shirin always believed that Najma took away Imran from Nikhat.. Although in reality this wasn't entirely true. Shirin always believe it this way and has not forgotten it
And now with ZoYaan track, Shirin has started to believe that Asad has taken Zoya away from Ayaan and ruined Ayaan's life and their reputation and Shirin believes that this in-turn will affect nikhat's marriage as well.
But the irony is Nikhat's marriage was ruined even before it happened , but Shirin will not see this truth when Farhan's secrets comes out... Again the blame will somehow twist and go to Dilshad and her two children Asad and Najma.
I loved the parallels shown with Dilshad - Najma conversation and Shirin - Nikhat conversation.. Dilshad and Najma's conversation was so full of love, understanding and calmness when compared with Shirin and Nikhat.
And i am glad that the Cvs did not end Imran and Najma issue at what they have shown last time, and took it further with their conversation today..
And this highlighted the fact that even Najma is a mature person like Dilshad whop knows how to deal with what life throws at them maturely and calmly.
On the other hand Shirin has never taught her children this.. So even if Nikhat or Ayaan tries to be mature and understand about issues they fail when faced with life's realities and also at times they get swayed by their mothers hatred and constant negative words towards the other family... Farhan's truth might even change Nikhat in a disagreeable way.
Asad - Zoya:
As i am sure that many have already written about them, i am not going to write much about them today except to say that it was a real surprise to see Zoya kiss Asad..
The kiss may not be a passionate one but it was cute and adorable and i feel that it suits the stage of their relationship.. i for one, want to see slow progression in their relationship... If SR type of scenes are shown now, what will we see on their SR as something new?...But I didn't like the dance ( but this is just my opinion) because the steps were repetitive... but the hug in the end had more passion than other hugs which again is a progression.
Before ending let me summarize what i feel is what ZoYaan track accomplished.
1. set the stage for Asad and Ghaffur conflicts in relation to Zoya.
2. Further established Shirin's long held belief that Dilshad and her children are the root cause of all her grievances.. Najma snatched her daughters would be husband and Asad took away her son's wife.
3. Strengthened Asad and Zoya's relationship and love further by making them realize that their love is more important to them than any other relationship.
4. set the stage for the conflicts which is going to happen between humaira and Zoya once the Ghaffur truth comes out.. this is inevitable in future with Raziya around.
5. Ghaffur Siddigue now hates Zoya for the Dhaag he got. The father - daughter has a big conflict even before the revelation.. the revelation will never be smooth because of other factors involved but now its going to be more complicated.
Another thing i want to highlight is that, story telling in QH has always been different.. Its layered upon layer.. And ZoYaan track has not really ended.. Its just Asyaa reunion which has happened now.
