Mehnaaz Maan who impressed one and all with her power-packed performances on Zee TV's India's Best Dramebaaz (IDM) is now winning hearts in Zee TV's latest offeringEk Mutthi Aasman(DJ's A Creative Unit) as Kalpana.
This serial that went on-air on 26 August 2013 is a story of a household worker (being played by Shilpa Shirodkar) who dreams to see her children at a better place in life.
Tellychakkar.comhad a conversation with the little girl Mehnaaz studying in her fourth standard who said, "Soon after IDB finished, I got a call from the channel and I auditioned from home (Chandigarh) and got selected. I enjoy shooting. I have fun learning dialogues. I like meeting actors too as I get to learn a lot from them."
Talking about her friends and studies she averred, "When I miss school my teachers help me with the notes. So I keep learning from my notes. And I have the same set of friends even now, so being on TV hasn't changed me much. Just that at times people ask me for my autograph brings a smile on my face."
When asked about her further plans, she gave a practical reply, "Acting and dancing is my aim at the moment. I don' know about my future."
She further went on to add, "My parents never force me into anything and though my dad is an engineer, he is very supportive of me. Getting into acting was my wish. My mum has done theater so I used to learn acting from her initially. Later I joined theater class. I was learning acting there and that's when TV happened."
On her favourite actresses on the big screen, she named, "Madhuri and Juhi Chawla are my favourites.
