Rajeev Khandelwal sponsors a girl child

Captain Rajveer Singh Shekhawat (Rajeev Khandelwal) of Left Right Left has sponsored a girl child. A six-year-old from an orphanage close to his home. Which means he is now responsible for her medical and education expenses. The girl stays in an orphanage, "Muskan", which is located at Andheri, in suburban Mumbai.

Rajeev who is in Jaipur right now says: "I haven't adopted her. I have sponsored her. She is living in Muskan foundation located at Andheri. I'm just taking care of her medical, education and other expenses. She's six years old and her name is Swati. Yes, I do meet her occasionally and send gifts for her, but this is something really personal and I don't want to talk about it any more."

Jaipur is Rajeev's home town and his mother is also a social worker and member of Cancer Care Foundation. Rajeev is not the first star who is sponsoring a child. There are the other stars who have gone in for formal adoption. Like the late comedian Mahmood, who had adopted a girl child Kizi from Mother Teresa's ashram from Banglore. Kizi is living and working in the US.

Then Sushmita Sen's also adopted a child legally.

Some years back, Mithunda adopted a baby girl who was left to die by her biological parents on a garbage dump in Kolkata. Today Dishayeen shares equal space in her parents' affection as her brothers.

Salman, Sohail, Arbaz and Alvira's little sister, Arpita too is adopted. She was found as a baby abandoned on the rocks at the sea front outside the Khan home.
