The next few days saw a budding friendship between Arnav and Khushi. Neither pushed the boundaries. For Arnav, the priority was to get the investigation complete and solve Khushi's problems.

He had hired SS Detective agencies'. They were the best in the industry and extremely trustworthy. When he met the head of the agency, Mr Aaron Jones, Arnav made his stand clear

' I am not one of those men who thinks my wife is having an illicit affair.

I don't want you to check on who calls her and whom she meets.

But I want you to find out if she is having any financial dealing which is troubling her.

Also find out what is happening to all her money and why she is so scared of telling the truth.

In this process, whatever you do is acceptable. But please do not violate her privacy.'

Aaron looked at the man opposite to him. He was looking at one of the youngest business tycoons of India, who had also been one of India's most eligible bachelors.

His sudden marriage to an ordinary employee had shocked the world.

The media had gone into frenzy trying to know who the girl was and how the romance had started. But Arnav had kept the media at bay, threatening withdrawal of various advertising deals and sponsorships if they publicized about her.

Aaron was curious now. Who was this mysterious girl who had the great ASR getting bound to matrimony? More importantly, what was it about her that had ASR so worried?

But he kept aside his personal curiosity aside and put on the professional front

'Sure Mr Raizada. We will do the best. But please note, we may have to track her phone details and follow her, if needed. You will have to sign some documents to allow us these basic rights to investigate. We will also sign the non-disclosure clause. We will not reveal any detail about our investigations to any one but you.'

Arnav nodded his consent and then the documents were signed Arnav added,

' I want quick action. I don't want anyone to hurt Khushi.'

'Sure sir. You have our word,' Aaron said.

Khushi was on a different mission altogether. She was determined that she would bring the happiness back into Arnav's life, no matter what it cost her.

She knew his childhood had impacted him drastically and his mother had been the biggest culprit followed by his absent father.

She had done her investigations and found out where his mother and father lived.

It had taken a lot of sneaking. But she had all the information she needed.

So, one fine day that week, Khushi decided to set out to the Ashram his mother resided in. The Ashram was located in Lucknow. It was not possible to go all the way to the Ashram and back in a day. So, Khushi decided to lie to Arnav and said

' I have to go out of town for my company's work. I will be back on Friday'.

What followed were a million questions from him. Khushi fielded all of them with some suitable answers. Yet, when she left, she could feel his uneasy gaze focused on her. She told herself

'I have to do this for you Arnav. Any time we may part ways, if your faith in me gives way. Before that I want to do some good for you for all the hurt I have caused you.

I want you to know that you are not the one to be blamed for the bitterness of your parents' relationship. I want your mother to tell you that she was wrong, so that you stop blaming yourself.

I want you to drop the burden of the past and go ahead with your future.'

When she reached the Ashram, she was skeptical if his mother would meet her as she had heard Anjali say that she refused to meet her own children.

But she would not take no for an answer. She would get her way----somehow.

After reaching the Ashram she requested the patrons to let her meet Nandini Raizada.

The patrons did not think twice before refusing, 'She never meets anyone from the family. You are no exception. She does not even meet her children. You are just her daughter-in-law.'

Please ask her once. Tell her Arnav Singh Raizada's wife is here to meet her. Please show her this piece of paper. She will meet me. I am sure'.

The patrons went away to corner and had a tiny discussions. They came back and informed her, 'We will give it a try.'

As she waited her thoughts went back to the day, Arnav had told her about his mother. They had shared their first kiss that day. Arnav had been so hurt and emotional that day as he had narrated what his mother had put him through-----

She seemed to be waiting forever. But Nandini Raizada did not seem to make an appearance. She was beginning to give up hope. Looked like her ploy did not work.

Just then the one of the patrons walked up to her and said 'Mrs Nandini Raizada said she will meet you.'

As she walked towards her mother-in-law's room, Khushi was tense. Was she doing the right thing? Would Arnav be angry at what she was doing?

She did not care. She had to do this for him.

She was uhered into a dimly lit room. At first her eyes could not see much in the darkness. But as she got accustomed to the darkness she saw a woman sitting on a couch.

To say she was beautiful would be an understatement. She looked like a gorgeous royal queen. As Khushi gazed at her, she began to wonder if she was looking at a statue, when she spoke,

' So you are the silly girl who dared to send me a note saying I am the worst mother on earth and I can't even die in peace if I don't make up for it.

I did not meet you to explain myself. I met you to give you a piece of my mind. I do not allow anyone to judge me---'

But Khushi found her voice then,

' No you will listen Mrs Raizada. Because you are worse than mothers who kill their babies in the womb. You killed a child when he was living. Today, I will shatter every myth you have about yourself.'

Arnav was worried about Khushi. Where was she? Was she really working? Was she safe? Should he ask Aaron to follow her?

Just then his phone rang. It was Aaron on the line. 'Mr Raizada we have found an important information about your wife regarding the investigations you had asked us to make about her money. Can you come down to the office?'
