I don't know why it's so hard for people to celebrate someone's success. She is getting so much commercial success and improving her acting with each new film...I mean what more so you want. It's funny how popularity and success always comes with a backlash.

DPad deserves her success...girl you continue to rock and be more successful, let the haters crib. 👏

Yeah I think she is. I can give you countless reasons but I think if you watch her on-screen and connect with her/her character then mission accomplished.

More importantly, she is a hard worker...I think that trait alone with transform into an even better actress. I mean look her transformation from her Aishwarya (the MOVIE) days to NOW. She's much better and yes I saw the movie thinking it was a documentary about Aishu. Don't judge me. 😆

Also, she's very likeable on-screen but needs to less flowerpot roles in the future and more challenging cinema/roles.

🤗 Hetal, I just think Ram Leela is a huge HDDCS copy. Deepika is copying Dhol Bhaje. Noone can be as graceful as my Aish. 😉

Deepika is a great actress and she has improved from 0 to 100 right from OSO to CE, but somehow I feel all her successful films were either having multistarrers or big stars. She has not given a hit on her own with a lesser known star or any hit where she is the solo lead.

OSO,CE,YJHD were multi starrer and big starrers. Cocktail can be called her solo film as I guess the other two were nothing to her.

While Sonam has given solo leads and hits with lesser known stars, Deepika needs to try that out soon.

There are actresses who have debuted AFTER her, who face less criticism for their talent than Deepika.

As for this topic, She is not good as a solo heroine. Infact, Jacky outdid her in Race-2 and even in Desi Boyz, Chitrangdha was way better.

Lets clear it up then(:
Deepika was highly praised for her performance in Cocktail which happened five years after her debut. This year, her performances have been appreciated in YJHD and CE, being said to be even better than Ranbir and SRK respectively. Now she seems to be very promising in RamLeela.
She is now the #1 actress of Bollywood after just six years. And as for her receiving more criticism, where exactly? On this website? Cuz nobody outside IF seems to criticize her and on this site, she's the only topic for discussion.
And btw, Race2 was horrible, pathetic and DPad was baaad.

As for Bebo, her first critically acclaimed performance was Chameli, four years after a debut I guess. But what was the point? She went down again for the next two years. And she achieved superstardom with Jab we met, seven years after debut. And it's only on IF that I see her so praised tbh.

PC, is class apart. Can't be put in the same category as Bebo or anybody else when it comes to acting.

See, I'm not saying that Deepika is better than Bebo but even Bebo doesn't have 100 or so films that showcase her acting skills. It's just like how Bebo wasn't as good as Rani/Preity.
