He knew. He knew VERY WELL that KT loved Lakshya.. Why did he start to put the ring on KT's finger then? What did he think, that she would have forgotten Lakshya and magically fallen in love with him instead?? Wasn't he obliged as one of KT's friends and Lakshya's elder brother to look out for their happiness and well being? Yes. He was. Yet he foolishly forgot all his values and so called morals, and went in for the kill... I think he deserved that embarassment, for trying to coerce KT into marrying him, when he very well knew that she loved Lakshya and must be marrying him for some kinda renumeration. He's not stupid. He surely knew.

Whereas, I do agree with Eklavya when he said that Tulsi didnt have the right to take decisions for him. It's always been Tulsi's weakness to do this sort of thing. She means well, but it ends up screwing, like 2-3 lives at a time.

you are sooo right......i felt tht eku wud back away himself...but instead he was all ready to put the ring in kt's finger....i guess in a way tulsi is not at fault becuz it was mihir who hurridly annouced the wedding news

That is what I thought none of this is Eku's fault. He probably thought he will get engaged and deal with KT later. He didnt want create a scene by shouting out to everyone that KT loved Laksh. Tulsi just humiliated him what kind of grandmother. Why the hell did they organize a surprise engagement party without even asking him. He was all set to walk away but they push into a corner and humiliate him. I hope Eku does turn evil and teaches them a lesson in a good away.

i think that eklavya's actions were expected in the given setting.

it was too bloody public -- what choice did eklavya have, really?

if he said "no!" (as a lot of us would've liked - including me) it would be embarrassing his parents+family, kt in front of a gargantuan crowd.

the poor chap's just stepped off a plane, with no clue that his exhibitionist family have put together a birthday party layered with an engagement at home. he's not even told at the door what's in store for him - he thinks it's a birthday party. he's put in front of kt, given a ring and said "put it on", under the limelight of at least 100 eyes.

okay. so you're eklavya. you're one of the most publicity-shy people around. what d'you do?

me? i'd do what eklavya started to do. do whatever the loons want me to do in public, and create a stink about the invasion of privacy later!

the most stinky thing about this whole family - other than the fact that they never talk face-to-face with each other about anything - is the amount they creep around the place, invading people's privacy to get information.

remember when kt went through eklavya's stuff in eklavya's room??? how cheap was that? and eavesdropping is something that we've been programmed to expect!

i detest the invasion of personal privacy that joint families seem to have to tolerate. or this show says a joint family has to tolerate. one can't even keep one's own personal feelings - like love - to oneself. and then, a bunch of idiots splash it all over a party with people who stay to

a) gawk at drama that is seriously unpleasant and
b) eat cake after the drama!

the whole thing stinks to the highest stratosphere.

Agree with that much, estee. He didn't really have much of an option and was probably confused but still I don't think he should have put the ring on her right away. He should have made some excuse and excused himself. Then when his family members asked him what's wrong he should have told them the truth, saving himself from further humiliation.

Still, the decision KT and Lakshya took was entirely wrong. I mean come on! You have a perfect example of what happened to a shaadi where love was only one-sided right in your family history! (uhhh….Ansh and Nandini, Karan and Tanya, Sahil and Tripti…need anymore failed couples?) And they still go to be all mahan and sacrifice their love. I don't think that's fair to Eklavya either. He told them that he would forget KT but they still went ahead and agreed to sacrifice their love. Why couldn't they just stand up and speak for once? Lakshya didn't say a word although in his case his actions did somewhat speak for themselves as Neeti said to Tripti, but KT just cried and cried.

So I think they are all wrong in one way or another:

Eklavya for going ahead with the engagement KT and Lakshya for sacrificing their love KT and Lakshya again for not speaking up Eklavya for saying (just minutes earlier) that he was going to sacrifice his love for Lakshya and KT and then going to the engagement and willingly ready to put the ring on KT's finger. Eklavya for saying he'll seek revenge- just leave the girl! There are plenty of other girls out there! KT – for crying there helplessly when she could have taken actions rapidly
• KT again for saying that she was only repaying what ehsaan Eklavya had done by saving Tulsi's life. Tulsi is Eklavya's dadi too, it was his duty to save her, not an ehsaan.

you are so right! i've become too sucked into this ridiculous show -- i forgot that in a drama, the characters can easily do drama! i was thinking of what i would do, not what eklavya character can do! ☺️

so to make up, how's this?

eklavya's reaching out for kt's hand to put the ring on, when suddenly..

he starts swaying slightly, his eyes blur.

eklavya's hand moves slowly up to his forehead.

kt's weeping too much at the floor to notice. but damini-mom can see beyond her own 1000-watt happy smile that something's going wrong with eklavya.

damini-mom: eklavya? what's wrong, beta? eklavya!

the swaying has become more pronounced, eklavya's practically buckling at the knees, both his hands are out groping for support. the ring drops out of his hand and goes rolling on the floor.

as eklavya falls back, mihir-daadu and karan-chachu move forward to hold him, eklavya's eyes close,

the ring keeps rolling, unstopped by all the crowd that are surging towards the falling eklavya, rolling..

the buzz around eklavya has finally penetrated kt's misery and she's standing at the edge of the crowd around the prostrate eklavya, horrified, while still..

the ring rolls and stops at the feet of another hurt heart, who slowly bends down to pick it up, and moves towards...

water is brought for eklavya, mihir-daadu is patting his cheeks gently "eklavya, open your eyes, please..", while kt's still at the edge of the crowd, her eyes and being drawn towards...

lakshya silently coming closer with the ring in his hand, eyes only for kt, while eklavya's eyes...

flutter open to the sight of anxious faces all around him, mihir-daadu helps him up to the glass of water that tulsi-daadi is holding out to him, and through the gaps in the crowd, eklavya can see ...

lakshya has reached kt, who stands motionless and accepting while he gently slides the ring onto her left hand finger. and eklavya's lips edge out into a smile, ever so slight.

hmm. is that what eklavya (and the balaji scriptwriters) could've done???? 😆
