Prologue::Zoya::I pressed out the creases of my white lace tank top and checked myself in the mirror for the last time. Sighing, I shakily took my backpack from my nightstand and went downstairs to join the rest of my family for breakfast. My father had been transferred to Delhi this time, and this was the first time we had been transferred to a big metropolitan city. Abbu had been promoted and so he had to join the head office in New Delhi, which came with a house with furnishing and everything.
My younger sister Humeira was sitting there happily chatting away with Abbu while Ammi was busy stuffing her lunchbox with aloo paranthas. I sat beside Abbu who smiled at me and passed the paranthas to me, I started playing with them.
I'd always been the shy one in our family, Humeira never had any problem with transfers and stuff she could easily make friends and people loved talking to her. And me...well I was totally a different case; in school during any of the free periods I would always sit in the library and study and had almost no friends. But this time, I am not going to let that happen, I'm not going to be a social pariah or something like that.
I'd already started making an effort, I had straightened my waist length hair, had applied mascara to my eyelashes and had even put on some lip gloss. Well today was the first day of my college I had to make an impression. After finishing my breakfast I kissed Ammi on the cheek and picked up my scooty keys from the table. It was a gift from Abbu on getting admission in St. Stephen's College.
I reached my college with ten minutes to prepare, fear immediately gripped my heart this college was huge back in Nainital even my high school wasn't even half of the size. Students were happily chatting away with each other and no one paid any attention to me, which was good.
I started walking towards the main building when someone bumped into me from behind, which caused me to loose my balance and I fell headfirst. Great way to begin your day. I quickly got up and picked my books and brushed the dirt from my jeans. I turned around to see who this ill-mannered person was.
There standing infront of me was a tall well-built boy with features so sharp and beautiful that he would give any Burberry model a run for their money. But what caught my attention were the dark brown Ray Ban shades he was wearing along with a white and red cane.
The boy was blind.
