Ahan Shetty Entourage Cost Bomb: Suniel Shetty FIRES back, "The producer can show a bill"

The debate around entourage costs of actors has once again taken centre stage in Bollywood, with younger actors increasingly finding themselves under scrutiny. While rising fees and production budgets continue to dominate conversations, entourage expenses have quietly become one of the most debated issues behind the scenes.

One of the latest names to be pulled into this discussion is Ahan Shetty, who is currently riding high on the box office success of Border 2. However, even as the film continues its strong run, older rumours linked to his career have resurfaced, bringing back questions that many believed were buried.

How Ahan Shetty Became Part Of The Entourage Cost Debate

The issue traces back to the period following Ahan Shetty’s debut film Tadap, which underperformed at the box office. Soon after, reports emerged that he was set to star in a romantic thriller titled Sanki, reportedly backed by Sajid Nadiadwala. The project, however, was eventually put on hold.

At the time, several reports claimed that the decision was influenced by the alleged high entourage costs associated with Ahan Shetty. According to these reports, Sajid Nadiadwala had concerns after reviewing the overall expenses billed to the production, which allegedly prompted him to rethink the project.

The same reports further stated that while the producer managed to sell the digital rights through a bulk deal with Amazon Prime Video, the returns from satellite and digital rights were lower than expected. This combination of factors was cited as a reason why Sanki failed to move forward.

Suniel Shetty Slams Rumours And Defends His Son

Suniel Shetty was recently asked about these claims during an interaction with Lehrein Retro, and he did not mince his words while addressing the allegations. He strongly dismissed the rumours and questioned their credibility.

He said, “Ahan has never gone overboard with his entourage. These are all rumours. This gossip was circulated as per the producer’s convenience. If the producer says that he can show a bill, then I will see. There the father steps in and will step in, very, very clearly. Don’t spread lies to hide your weaknesses, because it’s not fair on Ahan.”

Doubling down on his stand, Suniel Shetty went on to share his own experiences to underline how seriously he takes such matters. He added, “Ahan is very, very careful with his entourage. And if it’s his entourage, he will pay for it. He is aware of that. When Suniel Shetty takes his food and water from home… my staff has been told that if you are eating the unit’s food then it’s fine, but if you want to order from outside, put the bill under my name and not the producer. My staff can’t dare to do otherwise, so Ahan’s staff would definitely not do it. And Ahan has just arrived; this is his time to settle into the industry, so there are no tantrums. Ho hi nahi sakta (it’s not possible).”

Sanki Reports And The Industry Narrative

The conversation around Sanki first gained traction in 2024, when reports claimed that Sajid Nadiadwala had put the film on hold due to concerns over Ahan Shetty’s alleged entourage expenses. These reports were widely circulated and quickly became part of a larger industry narrative around younger actors and rising costs.

However, no official statement was issued by the production house at the time, leaving the reports open to interpretation and speculation. Suniel Shetty’s recent comments have now added a fresh perspective to the matter, directly challenging the claims that had gone unaddressed for years.

Border 2 Success And What Lies Ahead For Ahan Shetty

More recently, Ahan Shetty revealed that he was not allowed to sign any films for four years after Tadap due to his contract with Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. He also admitted that the phase affected his confidence significantly.

His return to the big screen came with Border 2, where he plays a key role in a large ensemble that includes Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and others. The film has emerged as a box office success, grossing Rs 295 crores and counting domestically.

As of now, Ahan Shetty has not confirmed his next project. With Border 2 reviving his standing and his father firmly shutting down past allegations, the focus has shifted back to what lies ahead for the actor rather than the controversies that once surrounded him.
