Unending Love (Series) Thread # 4

First Tale:

More about the series and the concept behind it...

UNENDING LOVE...(Series of historical SS and OS on Arnav and Khushi)

A series of tales, old and new about Arnav and Khushi, the eternal lovers...who take birth in numberless forms and at numberless times...

Age after age and life after life...

Here is the poem by R. N. Tagore, that inspired this concept...

"Unending Love

I seem to have loved you in numberless forms, numberless times...
In life after life, in age after age, forever.
My spellbound heart has made and remade the necklace of songs,
That you take as a gift, wear round your neck in your many forms,
In life after life, in age after age, forever.

Whenever I hear old chronicles of love, it's age old pain,
It's ancient tale of being apart or together.
As I stare on and on into the past, in the end you emerge,
Clad in the light of a pole-star, piercing the darkness of time.
You become an image of what is remembered forever.

You and I have floated here on the stream that brings from the fount.
At the heart of time, love of one for another.
We have played along side millions of lovers,
Shared in the same shy sweetness of meeting,
the distressful tears of farewell,
Old love but in shapes that renew and renew forever.

Today it is heaped at your feet, it has found its end in you
The love of all man's days both past and forever:
Universal joy, universal sorrow, universal life.
The memories of all loves merging with this one love of ours -
And the songs of every poet past and forever.

Waiting . . .i fell asleep before u updated. Just read it now in e morning. I think you did a marvellous job at describing the surroundings, matching it with her emotions and all that has happened in the past 2 years. I am glad she read his diary and realized that he wanted to wait for her to reach adulthood and not rush her like many impatient adults at that time to satisfy their physical needs. This is true love and she realizes that. Absolutely love the scene when he is coming to meet her, totally deserve to be in a superhit movie. Imagining the emotions going through her about whether he is coming or not, praying, convinvincing herself and when all hope was gone, she hears the sound of the oars. I could just picture her throwing herself in his arms with all the buildup. Why did you stop here though? Now I will have to stalk like a mad woman for your next update. I am sad you said this is ending in a couple more chapters but this is your story and you decide the length. I will just hope that you will cook up another one quickly after this one. TC.

Jenny,

What a beautiful chapter. Khushi's turmoil and pain of being left by Arnav, her yearning for him and growing love, it was brilliantly written.

You know just a few days back better half and I had a discussion around kids, teenagers, girl child etc. and he said, you know 15 is the right age for a girl to fall in love and if its nurtured properly it can become love for lifetime, because it's innocent and unadulterated. As much as I disagreed with him but when I read this story I see his point.

Initially when Khushi came to Arnab's the traditions, the customs and the family made her depend and look up to Arnab. However with each passing day Arnab's presence, the simple yet important things he did for her, the rarely spoken words that were deep and carried so much of importance and the little moments they stole from daily routine made her fall in love with him, slowly and eventually. And when he is gone she continued to love him because through his journal she read his heart and saw the love he stored in there for her. The conflicts he went through and the control he put on his physical needs to protect her childhood made her respect him more and strengthened her love for him.

It's so beautiful to see her feelings for Arnav bloom and blossom from necessity, protection, liking, love, respect and desire. She literally grew up for him, loving him.

The usage of meghadoot by Kalidas was lovely and the way the nature carried their yearning for each other was wonderful.

Like Khushi said there is a reason for this separation. This was nature's way of preparing Khushi emotionally and physically for the journey of love with Arnab.

Loved it Jen,
Loved how everything has become clear with the transition of time,...loved how you started with an entry in his journal setting the tone for the chapter...loved the flashback that triggers from that.
I loved how she understands him and the depth of his feelings.
Loved the myriad of emotions that she goes through from feelings of despair and heartbreak to her realisation and yearning ..her trust and faith in him and his words...to his love for her...
Loved the symbolism of the weather with the inner turmoil.

I love the realism and your attention to detail...your writing is just brilliant and I do think this is your best!
A visual delight! Loved the moment she realises and understands his words and the relevance of them...beautiful!
I feel the pain of their separation, and the joy of their reunion...I can't wait for more tender moments between them ...her finally coming of age!

Res

You know what I like about your stories...each is so different from the other.

What an interetesting contrasting style you have adopted for this one...beautifully befitting the times, the place, the intellectual atmosphere and the love that spans years because of their age difference.

I'm really enjoying the poetic quality of your writing immensely...it is reminiscnet of those times. The references of those literary stalwarts of Bengal and others like Kalidas is stunning.

You portrayed Khushi pain at being abandoned, her anguish while reading his dairy, her happiness when she reads the letter and finally her anger when she is atlast in his arms so beautifully.

Unlike your IH and Als, which are mostly told from Arnav's point of view, this is more a Khushi tale for me...and of course the title justifies it, rightfully so. Atlast, they are together and I cannot wait for the romance to bloom...aaj mausam hai suhana ...lalalalala😃

I too think that maybe Arnab had been framed? He couldnt have done that after promising Khushi. Her fears, insecurities had been so understandable and realistic. And the most natural thing had been - the rushing back of that memory from the ghat.
The chapter was written brilliantly Jen! Whether the heartbreak of that child woman who waited for her husband to come or the realizations which dawned on Khushi as now looked into the past through Arnab s eyes.. Very well!

The last part was so exhilirating! Man! He is back to his wife after such sad times.
