Garba/dandiya is apparently a big thing in Mumbai, I am learning ... today I saw a snippet in the newspaper about big pandals being set up for dandiya during the navratas, and people like Phalguni Pathak and another set of singers I don't know 😛 gave their expert comments about where they would be performing.

Its huge, those 9 days there are pandals at every corner every 2nd street. Around 6 pm or so the music n dancing starts, earlier it used to go on till late hours but now there is some time cut off for loud speakers i think.. And its customary n sort of like a prestige issue for the organisers to get celebs to the function.. Quite a memorable experience, unless u have exams during that time, in which case its really sad coz its impossible to study!!😊

And Phalguni Pathak would be greatly in demand as she is into the typical dandiya kind of songs.. They start advertising who's coming where long in advance to draw the crowds..
