Ali Fazal talks about landing a role in 'Fast & Furious 7' and his Bollywood projects:

How did you bag a role in Fast & Furious?
I was auditioned and they liked it a lot.

What is your role in the film? Buzz is, you play a crazy business tycoon...
I can't talk much about the role yet. I haven't finished shooting- but it is a fun role and different from anything I have ever done.

You co-star with Vin Diesel. How was the experience?
Vin Diesel is a very kind man and very professional. He also told me he wants to visit India soon.

Does the story of Fast & Furious 7 have an Indian connection,apart from you?
No, the story has no Indian connection apart from me.

What about the buzz that Indian actresses too are vying for a role in the film?
I believe many actresses were. It was all over in Indian newspapers, wasn't it? It was a global search, I guess.

Any plans to stay put in Hollywood?
I intend to do films, Hollywood or Bollywood is a matter of choice and emotion. But Indian cinema is my first love.

What about your Bollywood projects?
My film 'Baat Bann Gayi' is releasing on October 11 and I am currently finishing Rohan Sippy's film where I play the lead. I have also signed two more projects. Life is going to get a little busy over the next few months.

2) I know this is my fourth topic, but one of the previous topics shall be shut! Because it had alreadybeen posted. Sowwie!

4) What about the buzz that Indian actresses too are vying for a role in the film?

I believe many actresses were. It was all over in Indian newspapers, wasn't it? It was a global search, I guess.

You dont know is Ali Fazal? I am gutted. He's my latest BW crush. He was in Fukrey. Glad to see he has 3-4 more films coming up.
As for the actresses...some Brit actress from Game of Thrones bagged the role. Ali's cameo is the only Indian connection.

I am only posting this because 1) many believed FF's role was exclusively offered to a select few Bollywood ladies. 😆 2) Secondly, I am also posting this to know how come Deepika's PR made such a ROOKIE (not my words) mistake by claiming DP was offered the role? There was no confirmation from Van Diesel, and now suddenly the news has fizzled out.

Anyway go desis! Good for FF7 that they have roped in Indian actors.

I have been meaning to catch Fukrey, I shall now. Good for him for auditioning and then bagging a role. It shall be good exposure for him, plus he will get to learn a lot. He seems cute in the picture alright.

From what it seems to me that was a PR stunt to deflect attention from Katrina in D3 teaser plus Ranbir's insult. And she succeeded so purpose served. But now whether she really audtioned/rejected the movie or not I cannot tell. Maybe it was all false because the producers of F&F7 wouldnt care for such claims.

^ It would make no sense to audition, get selected, and then turn it down altogether. 😆😆 I've no issue with her PR playing games, she's a star and to stay relevant kabhi kabhi jhooti khabre likhne padti hai. A lot of people said that had this news been false, VD would have slapped a law suit so her PR would dare not commit such a ROOKIE mistake. But really, VD and co. probably have a billion other worries to take care, than to take note of who's milking their name. From Aish to Sonam to Irfan to Anil, none have rejected Hollywood calls, especially after taking the trouble to audition.

Yes unlikely that she turned it down. Esp if the role is decent. HW projects are planned well in advance. So I doubt they suddenly expected her to drop everything and land up for shooting as her PR says now.

Of course it was a PR exercise. Check the date when her trusted journo friend, Meena Iyer, came out to say that DP couldn't do the movie because of date issues. The same day when the news of Ali Fazal was published as the final choice for the movie - when they knew that they couldn't keep up this false story circulating any longer. DP and her PR was planning to milk this "Hollywood connection" (check how many articles on her came out during that time) for as long as they could.. Ali Fazal spoiled the game.
