Reason for Jagya's promptness in refusal - Page 3

As Jagya is a doctor, I am explaining this in medical terms.

When a wound is festering and gangrene has set in, the only way to ensure that poison does not travel to the entire body and end up being fatal, is to amputate the limb, in this case the rishta with Saanchi. Jagya did not waste time in it because he knew every minute wasted would only bring them closer to irredeemable damage to both families.

there were two reason jagya accepting marriage proposal one is for sake of anandi happiness and another one is for sake of his family happiness. he even told anandi in restaurant that i accept proposal because of u .though he feel uncomfortable with sanchi but he still did not say no to proposal because of anandi hapiness and his family happiness .he does not break engagment even his realization love for ganga .even after realization love of ganga he says i have no right to talk to ganga .he talk very little to ganga through phone .and after this he even says that to forget ganga i should concentrate on studies that is why he went to mumbai to study ms

It was for his family alone he took this sudden decision. He agreed for marrying again, said yes to Sanchi's ristha, tolerated all her nonsense, tried forgetting Ganga all for the sake of family.

He was never comfortable with the attention she later started giving to him. No interest in her calls or gifts. He had at once said he had never considered Sanchi that way when proposal was put to him. He found it odd and wanted to talk to Anandi first. But he was forced to say YES by his family who got him to agree by warning him not to do anything that threatened Anandi's happiness in her sasra. Not to give her any more dukh. So he agreed. All the time his disinterest and helplessness were evident. So how is Ganga responsible for break up of this engagement by Jagya?
I think he was hasty to break this because he felt it was already too late and there shouldn't be more delay - because Anandi would take forever to talk to Sanchi or anyone else or won't be able to intervene much. And if this alliance happened then he'd remain unhappy which was a given, but even his family would have to suffer more - which he did not want them to. He probably thought just as they agreed for this alliance and tolerated Sanchi due to Anandi, similarly they'd have to tolerate tamasha at home after marriage because Sanchi was Anandi's SIL. They'd be in limbo then. He was about to tell truth of Sanchi to his own family but did not tell Shekhars because he did not want to speak against their daughter and it was obvious they wouldn't believe him either.

So he made dialogues on incompatibility and felt it was easier to break an engagement than later break a marriage or break up his home for sake of keeping the marriage together.

From what I know of Jagya as a character, he has been very clear about his dislikes. He has never given importance to what he disliked at first sight. Anandi or Gauri - he'd had a liking for them. That was never there for Sanchi. So how could anyone expect him to work around that relationship or wait more to talk to Sanchi about what he had overheard?

Jagya did not think of Ganga at restaurant or outside it or while going to temple or Shekhars' house. He thought only of Sanchi and her plans which he had heard. So how can we say Ganga's love was main reason for his action?
He had not intended to visit or call Ganga after breaking his engagement. It's a coincidence that he got a call from Mangalore about Ganga's arrest.

Wasn't he ready to sacrifice for family? Which is why he offered Ganga to go to Jaipur instead of inviting her to Jaitser? He never contacted her again after she told him she would manage there by herself and did not need a job in Jaipur. He even felt she'd changed and moved on after living in Mangalore.

Therefore I still think his main reason for breaking this engagement was his family who he did not want to see suffer again. He'd seen his family's and Anandi's hesitation so he decided to stop dilly dallying and end it there even if he was perceived as a bad guy.

jagya consulting saanchi or talking to her before making any decision is unfair because even saanchi never said a word to him about how she feels and just jumped on marriage proposal...jagya was the last one to know that saanchi likes him and wants to marry him...poor guy

he is a bigger culprit than gauri or sanchi and how funny some women think he is a 'godman'

In my opinion, Jagiya agreed to marry Sanchi for the sake of his family's happiness. He had no interest in Sanchi. He tried to adjust but was suffocating in this relationship. But when he found out Sanchi's true colors and how she is going to treat his family, he made his decision. He did not want a rerun of his previous experience and saved his family from the upcoming misfortune.

He loves Ganga but was willing to sacrifice his love for the sake of his family. That is why he agreed to marry sanchi. But he could not bear to see his family go through suffering and pain due to his wife again. That is the reason for his breakup IMHO.
