Reason for Jagya's promptness in refusal

Jagya broke up relationship with Sanchi without talking to anyone else and without waiting much.

He kept silent all these months despite his dislike for her, difference in their ways of thinking and lifestyle and his dislike for her perverted overtures towards him.

But he showed promptness only now in refusing her after hearing her conversation with friends and learning from Anandi how she'd bribed the pandit twice.

It's being alleged that he did so because of his love for Ganga. Broke off from Sanchi the moment he got something against her.

What do you think, why he broke the engagement like this? Because of concern for family but knowing their inability to refuse and to avoid further problems in their lives? Or because of his newly realised love for Ganga?

But then didn't he dislike Sanchi from day one? Even before he developed feelings for Ganga. Hasn't he been avoiding to refuse for sake of his family? And refused now when he felt even family couldn't be happy?

What's your take?

I feel he broke off the engagement with Sanchi because he is concerned for his family not because he loves Ganga. He tried to work it out, but hearing Sanchi making fun of his heritage and the way she said she would take Jagya away from Jaitser was the triggering point.

However tempted I may feel to buy that idea (of his love for Ganga being the trigger), I still think it's got less to do with Ganga. Jagya disliked her from day one. He disliked her behaviour with Anandi and his family.
He was never comfortable with the attention she later started giving to him. No interest in her calls or gifts. He had at once said he had never considered Sanchi that way when proposal was put to him. He found it odd and wanted to talk to Anandi first. But he was forced to say YES by his family who got him to agree by warning him not to do anything that threatened Anandi's happiness in her sasra. Not to give her any more dukh. So he agreed. All the time his disinterest and helplessness were evident. So how is Ganga responsible for break up of this engagement by Jagya?
I think he was hasty to break this because he felt it was already too late and there shouldn't be more delay - because Anandi would take forever to talk to Sanchi or anyone else or won't be able to intervene much. And if this alliance happened then he'd remain unhappy which was a given, but even his family would have to suffer more - which he did not want them to. He probably thought just as they agreed for this alliance and tolerated Sanchi due to Anandi, similarly they'd have to tolerate tamasha at home after marriage because Sanchi was Anandi's SIL. They'd be in limbo then. He was about to tell truth of Sanchi to his own family but did not tell Shekhars because he did not want to speak against their daughter and it was obvious they wouldn't believe him either.

So he made dialogues on incompatibility and felt it was easier to break an engagement than later break a marriage or break up his home for sake of keeping the marriage together.

From what I know of Jagya as a character, he has been very clear about his dislikes. He has never given importance to what he disliked at first sight. Anandi or Gauri - he'd had a liking for them. That was never there for Sanchi. So how could anyone expect him to work around that relationship or wait more to talk to Sanchi about what he had overheard?

Jagya did not think of Ganga at restaurant or outside it or while going to temple or Shekhars' house. He thought only of Sanchi and her plans which he had heard. So how can we say Ganga's love was main reason for his action?
He had not intended to visit or call Ganga after breaking his engagement. It's a coincidence that he got a call from Mangalore about Ganga's arrest.

Wasn't he ready to sacrifice for family? Which is why he offered Ganga to go to Jaipur instead of inviting her to Jaitser? He never contacted her again after she told him she would manage there by herself and did not need a job in Jaipur. He even felt she'd changed and moved on after living in Mangalore.

Therefore I still think his main reason for breaking this engagement was his family who he did not want to see suffer again. He'd seen his family's and Anandi's hesitation so he decided to stop dilly dallying and end it there even if he was perceived as a bad guy.

Jagya never ever liked Sanchi and he forced himslef to put up with her for the sake of his family happiness and since he believed that she was Anandi's choice for him.These are the only two reasons for him to get engaged in the first place.

In my POV, its a mix of all the reasons

jagya accepted sanchi's proposal for his family's happiness & because of anandi, he thought it had her approval, the moment he realized absence of both the reasons, he didnt waste any time on it...
i think he felt very free & relieved to do that 😆.
we can debate on what was the right way to do it...but sanchi being sanchi no amount of talking to her would have helped ! this was to be done asap...may be taking his father & dadisa into confidence before going ahead should have been the right thing to do.

In my opinion, Jagiya agreed to marry Sanchi for the sake of his family's happiness. He had no interest in Sanchi. He tried to adjust but was suffocating in this relationship. But when he found out Sanchi's true colors and how she is going to treat his family, he made his decision. He did not want a rerun of his previous experience and saved his family from the upcoming misfortune.

I think Jagya thought his family will be happy with sanchi as their Bahu and only for this reason he was being patient. Now after overhearing the sanchi's restaurant convo, its clear that sanchi has no intention to blend with his family and that will surely cause unhappiness only for his family. So the main reason of making his family will not be fulfilled. Also sanchi was not really Anandi's choice like he had thought earlier. Two main reasons why he agreed are no more valid.

Promptness with he did it - i guess maybe he was just too angry on jhooti, sarphiri Sanchi😆 and wanted to let out soon. Otherwise he could have told his family of sanchi's double face. Then his family would have faced shekar's anger instead of jagya alone😕. He would not want them to get curses from Ira and co. This could also be a reason.

I guess its a combo of many things. Its never a one thing that make you take certain steps.

I think if he had not over heard that conversation and had a talk with A he would have gone ahead and married her despite loving Ganga and would have made everyone his,his family's and Sanchi's lives miserable if he had not overheard what Sanchi said.
