Television actor Anand Suryavanshi was recently preparing for one of the biggest interviews of his life. That's for his two-and-a-half year old daughter Diza's school admissions.
"I did feel the jitters," says Anand. "In fact when I was sitting outside for my turn I actually told myself, 'Anand you've come a long way'. But I don't like this concept of an interview for parents. As a parent, I am sending my precious daughter to your school. So, I should be interviewing you, not the other way round," he says. "Of course, in my case, everything went off very well and the principal explained to us that it wasn't an interview, but just a meeting with the parents. I was glad. But that's the case in this school only. In most others across the city or even outside, interviews are conducted. They also observe certain other rules that are beyond my understanding. For instance, a child whose parents are not educated may not be given admission. That's unfair. Just because somebody couldn't study for whatever reasons, his kids can't be deprived of admission!"
Meanwhile, on work front the actor's returning to Mamta once again. "My character Akshay was killed a month ago in the show, but they felt people were missing him, so I've been brought back from the dead," says Anand, who's also looking forward to his next show Viruddh on Sony.
