My take on Tumhari Disha dated Aug 30 '05
First things first. I did not see yesterday's episode completely. Started watching it from Dish and Suhas's scene. But somehow thought of writing my views on the character changes (maybe assasinations !!).
While watching the episode yesterday I could not help thinking abt Suhas's flip flop. Initially she was not close with Dish. Then once she knew that coz of Dish Inder and house is getting lost she became angry with her. Then she once again became close with her. After Dish ran away from her mandap Suhas was once again angry with her whihc was fuelled by Inder's death. Now she is back to feeling good abt Dish. I mean Suhas must be the only character who has done so many about turns. Among TD cast I think that its only Azuba who has been the same throughout. Always supportive of Dish and truth. (i mean closer to reality).
About DK the less said the better. DK being so intelligent how can he even think that Dish tried to kill him. I guess this topic has been discussed to death. After being so much in love with Dish how can he suddenly hate her so badly. Should he not be concerned as to what really happened. If she had to kill him she had so many opprtunities. Let me repeat the cinema dialogue. Khane mein tho zeher mila hi sakthi thi. (Translation: She could have mixed poison in food). Maybe from DK's perspective he wanted to get away from his world and when he saw his bro Ved and Dish against him he lost all his brains and hence now is not able to think properly.
Dish needs to stand uo for herself. Being good does not necessarily mean that u have to be a door mat for others. She has always worried abt others and ended up creating problems for herself. If only she is getting affected no harm. As after all its her life. But in the process she is making life hell for others as well. What right did she have to kill Inder's dreams when she agreed to Suhas's demand for Rano and also married DK. Then why did she agree to marry Ved and even though the poor chap kept on asking her abt her feelings she lied and finally ran away from the mandap ?.
In fact looking at things deeply, Gargi and Ved are justified in what they are doing. Gargi always had to share her husband with Sum and also digest the thought that Dhruv was in love with Sum. Any married woman would find it difficult. (Let me not think abt Gargi's own ecapades if there were any. Am sure they wud bring that angle later on and justify Dhruv and Sum. My comment is based on presently whatever is known). Similarly Ved was jilted at the wedding altar by Dish. So guess both their negativity was in a way fuelled by their failures in marriage life.
and how can I forget Maheka ? If her husband ran away does it mean that she will consider whoever comes her way as her husband. and I guess they are not yet married (no sindoor etc etc). I though DK had understood the significance of Sindoor (did he not cliam the same while with Dish). Then how could he do this with Maheka. Can't he understand that he should make Maheka understand the truth. Whatever he is doing is currently on the rebound and the day he comes to know of the truth (if that happens ever) then he is on way to shatter three lives. His own, Maheka and Dish. Of course Dish mite decide to become devi and sacrifice for Maheka and Aaroh (as he needs a father figure) or Maheka can die. I guess we can discuss this aspect when it happens at a later stage.
My questions or topic for debate to you all. Do you think that Suhas is justified in her flip-flop character. I would request that rather than looking at her as a mother please look at her as a woman and then post your views. Also let me know if Ved is justified being negative. What should DK do when he comes to know that Dish was not guilty. Should he be Ram and be with Dish or be Krishna (Bama-Rukmini).
For the unititated in Hinduism we have many gods. Lord Ram was famed for his 'Ek-patni' vrat (one wife only) while Lord Krishna had numerous wives prominent among them being Satyabhama and Rukmini. Both Lord Ram and Lord krishna were the avatars of Lord Vishnu. (Avatars is being born on earth and following worldly ways of life). Rrcently we celebrated the birthday of Lord Krishna as Janmashtami (or Gokulashtami as it is also known. Gokul being another name for Lord Krishna and Ashtami - eighth day on which he was born).
In my next part (and i dunno when I will pen that one) I will try to dissect the characters of Rano, Inder and Suki kaki's family.
I could not help noticing that yesterday that the old DK charm was back. The way he spoke with Gargi and hugged Dish I could not help remembering the good old days. and Dish when will you change your sari ? Am tired of watching the pale yellow sari with the not so matching blue blouse and those chandelier earrings. and surprise Gargi has taken over Dish's dress designer. Well for the preview Gargi was wearing a black sari which was and the material looked the same type as Dish used to wear (semi transparent !!!!) ššš
Last but not the least, thanks twinkle for the wonderful update for yesterday. Keep them coming.
Note to Samy/Sree/Jingle: While i was penning my take these thoughts came into my mind and i thought that we should have a discussion on this as well Let me know if I need to move out these questions to some other suitable post.
