I was watching some other show with my mom last night, where there was a wedding going on, and the two who didn't love each other actually got married, while their respective lovers stood in the sidelines crushing phool in their hands.
So I remarked sadly that they wasted so much time/money/effort on setting up this wedding scene just to get the wrong people married. How sad. To which my mom replied (in Gujarati actually, I'll just translate it here):
"At least someone got married! In that Qubool Hai, they set up the whole thing with all the clothes and decorations, and then no one ever gets married! I'm telling you even this time no one will get married, not Najma and certainly not Asad."
Oh my poor naive mother. She's going to be so wrong this time, because it seems Qubool Hai wants to follow in the tracks of that show we watched last night, what with the wrong people lining up to get married apparently.
EDIT: I'd written the first part before the wonderful TB article came out. At that time I didn't know I was going to be so weirdly right... they're quite literally gonna line up to get married.
