What did Shyam see in Khushi? - Page 3

May be shyam just wanted her but i dont think he really loved her..

Well, I don't completely agree about Shyam not being Number 1 in Raizada family. I think the whole family trusted him and loved him wholeheartedly. Remember the Teej episodes after Shyam returns back to Anjali? They were all going 'Damadji, Damadji' over him. He might not have been the son of the house but everybody loved him as their own. They depended on him to solve almost every family problem - be it Lavanya's entry, Arnav and Nani's disagreement...anything. Even the usually stingy Manorama maami worshipped him. By marrying Anjali, a girl affected by polio and giving her his love, he had won over every member of the Raizada clan, even Arnav. When Arnav chucked him out of Shantivan after his kidnapping, almost every member was mourning and had a hard time believing that Shyam could be such a vile person.

So, in my opinion - Shyam had a powerful hold on the minds and hearts of every member of the Raizada house.

But, I know what you mean. Ego. Yes, in Gupta household everyone depended on him to take decisions and set things right, especially Buaji. Maybe that gave him some kind of happiness and satisfaction. Still, can that be a reason to fall in love with Khushi?

I think he did love her to some extent. It wasn't just lust. Had it been just that, he would have taken advantage of her long time back, he had a lot of opportunities.

But, during his initial days when he came as a paying guest he was attracted to Khushi and we saw him trying to get friendly with her. He never forced her for anything. It was a strange infatuation, not lust.

The problem started when the attraction turned to full blown obsession. Seeing Arnav and Khushi coming closer during Payash's marriage celebrations, he got desperate and thus the terrace incident happened. The obsession intensified after Arnav and Khushi's marriage when he saw them as a couple.

He kidnapped Arnav only for money... for acquiring his property. And when Khushi came and pretended to team up with him ti kill Arnav, his obsession touched a new high.

His leaving Khushi tied up on the road was a result of a sense of betrayal he felt after Khushi revealed the truth AND because he wanted to save himself first.

Money and Khushi was all he ever cared about, anyway.

So, yes. I feel it wasn't love but it wasn't also lust. Just an unhealthy obsession. Phew! 😆
