Thanks Realitybites, for understanding my viewpoint.😃
(Im so sorry I don't know your real name inspite of corresponding on PM!)
You are welcome, Rohit.
Let me introduce myself here: Hi Rohit , I am Lavanya.
Hi Lavanya! Pleased to chat on IF! 😆😃
Unfortunately, I have not seen Rakhi Sawant's interview on Aaj Tak with Prabhu Chawala. Infact, I had no interest in Rakhi Sawant as such before Bigg Boss as I thought of her as the common mass did : 'gandi-fandi' Item girl.
But during BB and after BB, where I saw stuff like Rakhi getting easily influenced by Kashmira Shah, or the ganging up against Rakhi by Kashmira and others (Carol, Ravi, Rahul and Amit), I felt pity for her. MOst of us have seen people who's minds are like open books and feel pity that they do not have the ability to keep these thoughts, both good and bad, to themselves, as they get into trouble for what they say.
True I too saw a different aspect of her personality in BB. Yes, she has the earthly quality which touched the hearts of many people.
Yep, it is true. Most people felt touched because somewhere they felt the same quality within them.
Rakhi is a 'moohphat'. She says what comes into her mind at that exact time. That's probably why she is so entertaining in Bigg Boss. That's what led protestors like Buffie to criticise her "crassy" behaviour in Bigg Boss. That's also what also led her fans, like me, Sumesh, BigBoss_No.1 etc to love her and respect her.
So whether you like or dislike Ms. Sawant, one thing remains : you cannot ignore her! 😃😆 [That's also what tehy say about Karan Johar in the KwK ad! 😆]
Yes you have rightfully said that Rakhi is outspoken. But at times one needs to rephrase our words and select a more appropriate word so that we dont end up hurting or being misconstrued. May be at times Rakhi unintentionally ended hurting the sensitivities of other inmates. Being in the media limelight she shd have toned down or learnt certain nuances. After all in our society we are brought up on politeness and tolerance.
Here you are 100% correct about how to speak in Public as one would not speak in public as one would speak in private with those one is comfortable with. Definetly Rakhi's (shall we say) disadvantage was that she said whatever came to her mind and not chew up her words and think before saying, which caused all the problems with the other Bigg Boss inmates.
This is why I said that from what I have gathered, she has not received a 'good quality' education and due to this, the uncouth manner she poccesses explains why she still hasn't learnt what not to say and when not to say in public.
But that's why her fans love her. Because of her spontaineity. Because of her 'moohphatness'. Some people dislike it, but each one to their own!😃😛
BTW Amen to your last comment! We Indeed love her for what she is, straight, blunt, innocent (in a certain manner)!
Rohit
PS: I really loved what you had to say about the portrayal of India in foreign countries. Agreed, India is still a developing country, but people have matured and India's economy is booming. Rural India is also being developed [though a bit slowly] and Urban Indians are very much comparable with the so-called 'high-class' US urban public. Most Urban Indians remember their culture when dealing with citizens of other countries (I am making a reference to Shilpa Shetty and Big Brother here), and that's what makes them so special and unique! 😃
Finally thanks for your views on the topic.😳 Yes we as Indians to need to be more discreet in watching such programs and those abroad can really enlighten their fellow citizens.
Yes, and Indians are doing this as well. More and more NRIs are returning back to India, and if you have heard a recent release, 'The Namesake' [both book and film now], it addresses an ABCD's [American Born Confused Desi] return to roots! More and more people, who had left India for a better future are returning.
