"In an effort to appeal to the lowest common age denominator, Indian TV caters to imbeciles or adults with infantile intelligence."
Do you agree?
It's sad that the most preferred means of entertainment is so callous and provincial in content.
a)Debates or discussions or interviews call it by any name the flaws are there. The panelists may be big names but the way the program is anchored and structured leaves volumes to be desired. The questions are imperceptive, irritating and often baseless.
b)News reports shown are pathetic with the correspondents asking the most moronic of questions like the often abused 'how are you feeling?' to a person who has lost a near and dear one. From a place affected by rioting 'how's the envt there?' Cities affected by deluge with questions like 'what are the people doing?' 'how did you feel when crossing the 4 feet deep water?'
c)Documentaries? Well who watches Doordarshan?
d)Of course the quintessential K brand of fly dramas with their subservient plots and portrayals, which in no way have the veracity of actually happening. If the awful melodrama was not enough there is a new trend of multiple zoom-ins accompanied by sleazy light effects.
e)Comedy serials have not moved beyond the slapstick. Are we that poor when it comes to humor?
