Amazing Write up...

I was so happy to see Hamida Banu be so lovable with Jodha. She probably will feel less alone and isolated because of Hamida in Agra. It was very nice to have a glimpse of time when Jalal was born.

Like always, loved your post ! 😊

I have one question - did Prince Salim stay in Fatehpur Sikri? Because one of his wives' name was Jodhbai. And the palace in FS was named as Jodhbai Mahal and not Jodha Bai Mahal. So, is it possible that it was Salim who made that palace for his wife?

Nice post.
Just a question. What was Jalaal's motivation in having Jodha feed him? Was it just to prove to others present that she was acting as a wife or did he have a more personal reason? He certainly went to a lot of trouble in pretending he was injured and his glance at the others was triumphant when she did feed him. I felt he was surprised when she followed up by washing his hand and drying it. Of course there is no logic in anything so I won't even think about why he did not just use his other hand as Jodha did not either. He did after all use his other hand to hold her hand.😉

He did it, I think, just to test her reaction when he was in obvious trouble, as she believed, because of her. To see whether there was any degree of personal guilt and/or caring from her side. There was none, of course, till the maid Revabai urged her to do something to help him.

After seeing that she had no spontaneous reaction of support and caring, I think he decided to show her that it was all a joke at her expense. My feeling is that if she had instantly moved to help him without any prompting, he might have maintained the charade for a while longer.

Thank you,my dear. Yes, as Fatehpur Sikri was the new capital, Salim too must have stayed there in between the numerous wars in which he was constantly engaged in the far corners of the Mughal empire.

But I do not know whether there would have been yet another separate palace for his wife. apart from the Emperor's 3 principal begums. By the time he succeeded to the throne as Jahangir, the capital was already back at Agra, so the question would be a moot one.

Thank you, Devashree. Yes, I too loved those parts, and am quite reconciled to my erstwhile Begum Saridon by now!😉 Wasn't the baby Jalal adorable? So deceptively quiet, quite unlike what he grew up to be!

I am waiting to see Salima Begum too be a support to Jodha, including by telling her more about palace life, about Jalal's very close relationship with his Khan Baba, and about Jalal's protective kindness towards her and little Rahim, the future Krishna bhakt.

Dear Arnav,

It does not matter at all that you do not comment except when you feel like it, and thank you so very much for such a warm compliment. But I do hope that you feel tempted to comment more often!

Once Again

Amazing Post Aunty!
Today's episode was Amazing too
I Loved when Jalal's men were whispering "peheli baar kisi ne Shehen Shah ko itna intezaar karaya hai" "han woh bhi nikhaah ki peheli raat"
And the way Jalal barged in Jodha's Khema and was memerized [Just only seeing her from back, he was coming from backside didn't her?]
And the Khanjar scene was Awesom[The new BG played there, you listened?]
I was getting goosebumps when Jalal moved so close to Jodha, I don't know how Jodha maneged?
And the Dialougue he gave there telling that she didn't need to fear as he is here to protect her from anyone... I bet Jodha smiled. He didn't want her to think he is not Jallad. But no one can save you from me. That was it
And the "Hume hi mujrim thera diya" one was good too
I loved that Chicken scene, the way Jalal glanced at Maham-Anga"Jodha ko mere pass baithayo" look😆
And hid trick was to make Jodha feed him, hold his hand.[Jalal ko Jodha ke haath se khana hai hmm I like it]
Hamida Banu-Jodha interaction was so Sweet. Now Jodha's had Emperor along with his REAL mother on her side!
And Bakshi Banu is very CUTE and SWEET
I pray she will take Jodha's side too
When Jalal was coming with Jodha his style was like "Meri Begum hai"
Maham's face was hilarious to watch😆The way she was cutted off"...nahi ap sirf tayariya kijiye, Jodha ko yeh jagah hum dikhayenge" was too good.
When Hamida Banu was saying "Tum hamare liye bahut khaas ho"
Jalal face was like "Proud that Jodha is her Begum " and "Wah 2 minute me maa ko pata liya"
He was like, pleased to see her new Begum and Ammijaan become so comfortable with each other
Ruquiya's Attitude was good, when she was telling "Naya khilona..shehen shah thodi der baad uss se thak jayenge" I was like "You wait and watch'
And I told this same thing when she said "Woh humse milne khud ayenge aur woh bhi sabse pehele, hamesha ki tarah"
I pray this Time Jalal visits Jodha sabse pehele and Ruquiya gets to know this, I want to see her reaction😉 Bahut Attitude jhadti hai woh...
Skipping the Rana Partap part
The precap is a bit scary
I hope Jodha gives a strong reply when Jalal is angered on her song..something like "Aapne kaha tha geet gane ko, yeh nahi kaha tha kaunsa!~"
And Jalal is like I Like it😉Attitude ahaan
p.s. I am SAD today we will get the last 1 hour episode...But also eagerly waiting for the EGO clash and yes like you said Whe is the madir getting completed I want the prasad scene.

My dear Piu,

First of all, my profound apologies for getting so late with this one. I was running appallingly behind with me responses to comments on my daily threads of last week - I used to leave out as many as 3 episodes at a time earlier as they lacked enough material, but now there is no getting away from even a single one, it seems. I rushed thru many of them, but saved this delicious one for a detailed response and then I was snowed under with a mounting backlog. But it stayed in my mind - I will now tell you why - and so here I am.

Piu, what an incredibly beautiful and utterly novel concept, that of the two of them being linked by the soil, and of Jalal being eventually healed by the soil! I loved the whole of the part in blue so much - you see that it is about 70% of your post, and especially the part I have underlined. There are deep wounds in the innermost recesses of his psyche, of what he perceives as abandonment of him by his mother, of the absence of undemanding, supportive love and affection, even if he does not consciously realise this absence.

I agree unreservedly with your analysis, and I am amazed and impressed by your having thought of this concept - so fresh and so convincing as well. You are remarkably perceptive, and you can see connections that are not readily visible on the surface of things.

Thank you so much for sharing this take with me, and of course with all the rest of us.

Dear Shyamala,
With Eid holiday today ,I am finally here to gush about the episode and above all APPLAUD CHEER AND WHISTLE for the wonderful posts you make everyday even with your wonky wrist👏.Kudos Lady!! Inspiring and overwhelming.
Needless to say how apt your titles always are ,they already build up for the intrigue in the post and perfectly sums up the kind of equation and issues being dealt in the episode.Love it !!
Now coming to the episode.I guess with this one hour slot ,I was expecting some mediocre stuff but I was stumped stupefied and dazed to get the kind of finesse which was somehow lacking since its inception; the Shahi shaadi week is a box of hidden gems being scattered one by one...
I love these two..Perfect.. In fact too Perfect for a Liz Darcy kind of equation...😆
The tenterhooks ,the palpable throbs ,the push and pull amuses me just like you said "cat and mouse"
How can I ever summarize these two people when you have left me bereft of any words. Loved every bit of it..
One interesting symbolism from my side... Both are really brick headed very passionately driven people- "Ek mitti ko apne sar ka gaurav manti hai to dusra mitti se apne zakhm bharata hai..."
While both of them seem to have an arrogance ,a pride for their respective ideologies and beliefs .There is something that binds them together.
The soil..If she is the daughter of mother earth toh Jalaal too is the same mitti ki paidaish.
If she wants to protect her soil ,he craves for the expansion of his dreams by merging different soils in the big picture of vision for a huge empire.
If she swears by the soil to bring Jalaal ka kata hua sar ,Jalaal did indeed touched the soil of Amer and said , "Amer Ki mittti humein pukar rahi hai..."
So the Soil binds them
Also it could mean how deeply attached both of them are to their roots.both might be royals but have hearts grounded. Though no matter how hard Jalaal claims otherwise..We know he does have one...
I see the soil of Amer as a healing force..He brought the soil -the essence of Amer Jodha with him and in turn the soil will heal some deep wounds*Read loneliness and feeling of being unloved* for him...
I have always seen Jalaal like a lost child who clings on to people for love and support ,it slowly transforms and he is learning to stand for himself now,in this process,I do see Jodha as a pillar of support and more like a mirror for him.
A mirror because he sees himself in her.
.The same zid ,the same passion ,the same fealessness and she is also going to bea mirror in which Jalaal will see his follies and drawbacks too...
Aur phir Fireworks toh hain hi😆😆😆 With all that cat and mouse chasings...
ok stopping my bak bak...Don't even knwo if I had made sense at ll😛
Love you Shyamala🤗and Thank you for such an engaging and excellent read everyday..Its like my daily drug now You see😆😆
Piu
